Crysis Multiplayer Beta now on Fileplanet

Very fun game, enjoying it a lot... only got to play it very briefly but it is awesome.

been waiting for my key for ages, i just went on to normal FP and was able to signup straight away, guess i must have checked at the right time.

Gah...now there saying my RAM will be returned next week, was supposed to be back today ! Once i add the fact that it will then be sent to the wrong place (moving to uni tomorrow), im waaay off track, im probably guna miss loads of demo time too :(

The demo coming out will not be fully optimized, so even with the demo it's going to be perform as well as the full release :).

the sp demo will be optimized yes, but not 70% more than the current beta build - this is simply impossible. :)

If the demo is anything like the Beta it can go **** itself, I simply cannot play the Beta, I get about 10 fps more going from Low at 800x600 to High at 1680x1050, it's just unplayable.

I don’t know if you can discuss this as the NDA is still in place but how are the 2900 cards performing against the 8800’s?

going by reports from other forums, the performance is not good at all. looks like im gonna have to change the gfx card now to some nvidia card so i can play it the way its ment to be played. :)

I wonder if maybe the game is just really CPU dependant or something. I've not really paid much attention to people's specs but it seems that even with the same vid card, some people get decent FPS and some do not.
I have a C2D @ 3.8Ghz with a 8800GTX and I average about 40FPS outside with high settings @ 1680x1050.

Edit: Actually, isn't the beta running with some debugger? Maybe it's CPU dependant and is slowing things down?

Yeh i think this might be the case. i have a C2D at 2.8ghz and im getting about 30 or so average outside all high @1680x1050. Ive seen people with there c2d overclocked to 3.6+ getting, like you near 40 or so average. Could very well be the debugger.

People are always complaining about the performance of Crysis. Personally I am amazed it runs so well, on my rig I get a steady 30-40 fps with all settings on high in 1680x1050 and it looks absolutely stunning and this is only the beta! When the game is optimized further I am sure it will run perfect :)

Obviously for the people that have systems similar to mine or better and arent able to get the game to run satisfactory at a low resolution and settings it's going to be frustrating but you are in the small minority and it's the reason the beta is there. There is no way you will have those issues with the final retail version.

Ive got a quad clocked at 3ghz , highly overclocked gts on a 2 week old install of vista and it still runs like a dog on high settings.

Ive got the following X2 [email protected], 2gb, X1800XT 256mb. I run it in 1024x768 all in high (sound medium) with post processing on low.

I think it looks worse than farcry in low/medium!

put farcry in highest detail with all aa and af and it gets about 68fps, put crysis in lowest and it will get less fps and look worse. hmmmm
