Crysis Tech Engine 2007 clip

This game looks so Next gen its proberly not even gonna make it in 2007.

Was surprised during the game creating tool to see how simple it was for the guy to add trees and buildings... one would think the game could come out next month at that rate....

amazing the way games are changing!

the last explosion took my breath away!!!
i need to get myself a job, so i can purchase a new system upgrade ready this next year when everygame starts using this. id love to see it.

gfx sure look good but come its release in 2008 i doubt it will be anything special then.

Jeez, how many times do i have to say it's gonna be out this year. Maybe October at latest (if there are any setbacks), but it is scheduled for release in Q2 2007 (so April - June this year). So it could be next month if we're lucky. Stranger things have happened, for example, the TDU beta release date compared to the TDU actual release date. And the STALKER beta release date being so close to the actual release date.

Imagine running through the forest fighting the enemies with da hui by offspring playing in WinAmp. Now that would be awesome! Kinda like "another pwnt", "oh, theres another one" and "hahaha, i'm pwning". :D

Crysis Release Date and Development Status - January 10, 2007
The Inquirer got talking with Cevat Yerli at CES 2007. They asked a few questions which provided a little bit of new info. Nothing major but definitely interesting. I've listed them below.

* Crytek are going for a middle of the year release (late Q2).
* Crysis is currently in the pre-alpha development stage and is expected to make it to alpha by about march.
* The systems running Crysis at CES 2007 have a single 8800GTX, an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and windows vista which runs the game at 60+ fps for the most part (awesome).

I want to know where the inquirer gets it's writers from as there's a few booboo's on what was typed including the misspelling of Yerli which they typed as Yarill.

Go the The Inquirer >>

So there aiming for a mid 2007 release ! ie perhaps before June, its good to hear it runs 60fps+ on a vista/duo2/8800gtx rigg though....

Some good news guess lets just hope its true :)

:p I have friends that STLL think a 360 is better than a pc!

This game looks awesome no console even comes close.

Didnt they already say Crysis would not be possible to be ported to the xbox360 or ps3 ? unless it was very cut down or something....

:D

Please, hit him/her over the head with something hard and spiky, a baseball bat with nails through is ideal.

Also, Alpha sometime this month it seems.

And the specs, just something i want to add, that does mean that with XP, with a single 8800GTS, along with a Core Duo, i dare say 45-60FPs would be possible. Also, i think i remember hearing that the res was 1280x960 or something like that! That's not great but hell, at 60FPS, who'd complain, i know i wouldn't. Especially since i can only get 1280x1024 max on my monitor (19" Hanns-G LCD). Now all i need is that 8600GTS i'm so desperate for.

See, told ya. You don't need a nitrogen-oxide cooled supercomputer to run it. I can't wait to see how my rig will run it. If anything, i'll be running it at 1152x864. But, going on Crytek's history, i won't need to because the code will be that well optimised. Remember, it's currently pre-alpha so it's not gonna be optimised much. Roll on August when we'll either have it or will have a date.

What i just cant fathom is.. where did the natural progression go? I havnt seen a game with fully realtime lighting across an outdoor map let alone one with a massive view distance and a mind boggling amount of vegetation (armed assault would come closest). I havnt seen a game where the buildings are fully destructible? Let alone a game with fully destructible buildings, realtime lighting and day/night cycle. I could go on, Crysis doesnt just push one boundary.. it seems to push every FPS boundary possible.. its almost too good to be true.

Prefere a Medal of honor game using this engine instead.

Obviously you already play MOH anyway!?!?!

I can't wait for this game to come out, and see what it brings to the people that love FPS etc etc!!!

Will Crysis actually have all these features? or is this just a demo of all the things the engine will be capable of and some of them might not actually be used in Crysis (for the sake of actually getting it to run on current machines)

No matter how great Crysis turns out to be, I bet there's still the age old FPS bug bear of mine present.

Namely, being a rock-hard alien slaying mercenary wearing the latest in nano-tech suits who gets blocked by a 6" fence that you can't jump.

**not starting a console vs pc war** but at what cost?

It's all relative. Pc's as gaming machines are very very expensive but you do get amazing results. wether they're worth it entirely depends on the individual.

I think its safe to say that the actual crysis game with include these features as the video was a demo of the game crysis, not the cryEngineII
