CS - Apparently I am a "n00b hax0r"

i find shadows quite useful sometimes you will just catch someones shadow before walking into them so it makes it nice and easy to turn round n shoot them

Its nothing to do with fps really graphics tweaking, my machine could run the game on full settings fine, its to do with visibility. In the quakes you cap it around 76 ish anyhow imo so you can do strafe jumps slightly longer hehe. Not sure where the link is but there was an article on it back when I played hardcore. This sort of stuff is what seperates the good players from the very good. Which is why leagues/punkbuster cap these settings, because they give too much of an advantage.

If you compare that with the normal gfx settings you will see the difference and see why people can headshot you from miles away. Certainly not very pretty but perfectly legal according the league rules.

These work for anything based on the quake3 engine, So ET, Wolfenstein etc..

No idea about CS ones but im pretty sure there will be.

Yeah it is funny. I got accused of it a few times. Feels good now as I know im playing good when it happens. I have absolutely no idea how to spot hackers tho - In understand a cheat is to fast or an aim bot or wall hack? Ar ethere anymore?
Sometimes I do think some poeple hack in that they just seem to kill me before Ive spotted them or something extra ordinarily bizarre happens like an imposibly good shot, but im not sure if thats just didgey rates to promote this kinda thing.

Ah the joy of CS gaming speak.

CS = Counter strike - the most popular world wide online action 1st person shoooter supposedly.

Ive never got why people write pwned instead of owned other than it used to be a typo? And what "gg" is etc.
 
I always think of 'gg' as "good game". It was something I started saying when I played in my racing clan for midtown madness back in the day. After each game I was sick of typing "good game" so I just said gg hoping people would know what I meant.

But in CS I'm not sure if it means good going or good game or whatever. I've seen it used in context like:

player1: "that noob just team flashed everyone"
player2: "gg"

Not sure :confused:

Maybe like a sarcastic: "oh nice one" for when someone does something stupid?
 
play on better servers. Far more fun if you find a reg server and you see same people on all the time. Stop playing on Uk2
 
My friend played CSS for the first time in 2 years, he was accused after going 19-0 up in a server. Some of the stuff people were saying were nothing short of a joke.
 
I decided to fire up DOD Source for the first time in ages the other day, and the first game I play I get accused of cheating, despite having a very mediocre score and dying more times than I've killed. I was a rifleman and headshotted some Machine Gunner as he was going prone, probably more luck than anything else.

The thing is, I distinctly remember the general userbase of DOD being a lot more mature than that of CS, there was probably less whining in DOD because you respawn quickly and don't have to wait a whole round til you can go again (less frustration, more action). It seems that Source has brought the kiddies back to DOD though.
 
To me it appears that source has brought out a lot of immature players to the game :( especially to Day of Defeat which is a shame
 
I bases my form on how many times I get called a haxor. css public is a joke generally most of the time anyway. Full of team flashing noobs who think they own....
 
Any game online you just get the same thing, i tryed to play CSS once, i sucked at it so bad, i did not think anyone was cheating tho, i play UT2K4 most of the time now, and its the same on that, i aint a very good player, but in some cases, i have been beating the second best player by about 50 points, or had some good killing sprees were i have been killing people instantly on after the other, and if your killing the same person in a row, then they start to say, Will T use radar, or Nice radar you got there Will T, or He use Aimbot or He is noob, he is hacker etc.., and then they just switch onto your team and start boosting you off a larage cliff, for example, there is this level called Face Classic, they just boost you so far that you die, or sometimes everyone moves onto the oposite team to try to kill you, its funny though if you go into a game and the winner is bragging about how he owns you all, then you tottally own him and he gets in a strop and goes and sits in a corner and crys :p, But anyway all games are the same, Half Life 2 Deatmatch, battlefield 1942, 2, ut2k4, ut2k3, ut99, every single online game, i must admit, i was the same when i first started playing, i thought everyone was cheating, and its annoying if your doing crap in a game, and everyone calls you N00B, everyone was a noob once, and the only way to not be a noob is to practice.

The game that has the highest amount of people using bots and radars is ut2k4, its so pathetic, once there was about 5 botters in the same server at the same time, and i remember, once there was someone called AntiBot, if anyone else bots, he starts botting too lol, infact loads of people did, and thats what destroys online gaming.
