CS:GO Discussion

I recently started playing go, used to play css a lot. I have to wait till sep 2nd to buy or sell cause of new payment method but I have a huntsman case, does anyone wanna trade it for one or two skins, pref start pistols / awp / rifle?

You should ask for what skin you want especially, a lot of the skin drops are really not good. If you want my battle scarred storm skin just say the word :p The only way to get dragon lore skin is from a mission drop apparently which only goes to breakout coin holders. Its probably very rare to get and I think missions are just 2 per week?

Go here and bet or trade it maybe, http://csgolounge.com/match?m=1143 [do not add anyone to your friends list unless you know them already]

I still seem to get a game every now and then that is nearly impossible (for someone newish to the game).

Are you supposed to be matched up against players roughly similar to yourself or is it totally random?
Its not totally random just held in much secrecy. I think to rank up you will find yourself in at least one game the default MVP on your team. That is, you will be mopping up mistakes others are making which will make it a hard game. Other times you could go afk and still win the game, it can be a fairly extreme contrast I think.

I had yet another silly fail of a comp. My team decides to give up at half way, usual sarcastic gg. Of course the other team are not that good, we go 6 rounds in a row winning and lose by just 2 rounds, meaning we could have easily won it had they not given up

Theres lots of factors, I sometimes play competetive games hosted in New York but thats because I dont like dust2 and thats how far it goes to match me to play Cache perhaps.
I think ping 130 max is best otherwise you will end up in Russia  the horror.

Not playing dust2 removes a major awp map I think. Not sure what else you can do, throw smoke every round on the main route. A good pistol can take out an AWP, if you can rush them that close? In a comp game, losing 6000 spent to a guy who spent 300 is a major positive

I dont like AWP or use it really but I think it works out in the game

There's no point moaning about awps, they are a major part of competitive play. Just learn to deal with them, smokes and flashes are your friends.

^^^ This. Plus it was so much trolling when I got that Dragon Lore as a terrible player. So much hate and flaming towards me cos people thought I had bought it or was a major smurf (until they saw how bad I am). They were not impressed with me telling them I'd just started to play CS and that it was my 2nd ever drop (odds were 1 in 4 million for that drop).

LMAO competitive in this game is broken!! Just voted to be kicked by someone who was 2-11. While I was 2nd in the team and not playing like an idiot for kills etc. The other all followed up with the vote and got kicked. It blows my mind really...

And ofcourse the big mouthy one in chat was trying to tell me how to play while he was 4-12 or something.

Doesn't help when the other team were the best i've came up against on comp. Team of 4 and all used smoke/flashes like ive never seen before to make pushes.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, competitive is where the fun is!

Just played my first competitive match (30 rounds) and it's much more enjoyable! A lot like CS:S.

Now I see why people like this :D

Any clans open and needing a vet? lol

Few competitive games last night, I think I was matched with people more in my skill range as I actually finished a game up with 4 mvp's :D There was this strange little man mouthing off as no one would do what he asked after getting wiped out by his poor direction once or twice, he then spent the match begging "please kick me, please please kick me" and playing strange gay night club music over his mic because I kept voting no :)

I seem to have gotten over the initially steep learning curve and had some great games last night. Still no idea which game mode to go for, I kind of like them all for different reasons. Finally started getting the hang of competitive mode.

What strikes me is how amazingly well balanced the game is, even with the different roles and weapons it is incredibly well balanced. Even little things that other games simply cannot get right - like grenades for example - are not OP yet clearly can still get a very satisfying kill if your aim is right. The molotovs are great fun too. Next I have to figure out the smoke grenades, been avoiding them but others are using them very effectively – any tips of smoke grenades? I thought they would be used to help CTs sneak into places but they seem to be more used to block people from getting in somewhere.

Had this happen to me also, and you get punished for it, which is insane, there should be a system to combat this.

I saw great use of smoke last night, and molotov. It was to stop a push on B on Dust. Molotov in the hallway so the enemy wouldn't advance allowing us that crucial few seconds to get into place and then a smoke at the other entrance with someone advancing up the middle.

It put a lot of pressure on the T's which resulted in a few good rounds. But they got wise to the antics pretty quickly.

I will certainly be putting molotov into my normal built as it's a great tool for temporarily stopping an advance up a short passage way.

Had a real mare of a competitive game last night which kept me up most of the night worrying about my own stupidity.

Although we won the game, and I finished 2nd place, I made so many silly mistakes that the angry French team tried to vote me off several times. Things didn't start great when I thought that I was being shot at while defusing so I stopped, then released it was a teammate shooting in the air, which cost us that round. Then i accidentally teamkilled in the subsequent round. Then when I was last alive, I thought I was CT instead of T and was guarding the bomb rather than planting it. Proper noobie actions. You wouldn't think I had a 5yr badge which led to the team saying how the hell I had been playing so long and being a noob. Including from team members at the bottom with 5-15 scores.

I think I was just really really tired last night. I'm going to chalk it down as a one off but I still really feel bad for being shouted at. Hopefully I'm not the only one where everything seems to go wrong in a match!

... teamkilled in the subsequent round. Then when I was last alive, I thought I was CT instead of T and ...

I did that again last night as well! I was so focussed on shooting T's from the previous round, I totally for got that we had swapped. Doh! If I can't see team-mates around, sometimes I don't know what I am!

I've put some time into this over the past few weeks and I'm really enjoying it.

Need to win another match before I'm ranked but if anyone fancies a game feel free to add me, I'm pretty awful but would be good to play with people who like to communicate a bit.

I only ever seem to get grouped with French/ Russians who never speak English, unless it's to shout random abuse

I use moltov on nuke to stop ramp rushes. They generally stop and hang back clucking like chickens : waiting for it to stop, but then I flash them and it allows team to flank the other side ideally or you can just keep throwing nades like HE.
Because its so crampt and you can hear a few rushed, its like fish in a barrel. Works well at my level anyway though people often adapt if repeated

Also molotov can be used to advance, if they fall back and start to reload or walk a different way they are off guard. They dont expect you to advance, check your console damage after and it looks horific but its actually friendly fire which is 50% in csgo I think ? So a molotov is kinda a one way street

I think FF should set to 100% always but it aint so might as well use that. In esea, its 0% apparently

Hopefully I'm not the only one where everything seems to go wrong in a match!
I do that especially if you use the same gun on pistol round. Team flash is a bad one, somehow the nade just hits a bar and bounces back :o
I like if team will allow one site to be stacked. In theory inferno B can be covered by one CT almost as well. Nuke ramp I think is maybe one, of course you dont want them to know that but both have choke points to leverage. and team must be quick to switch over or flank.
Can work well if you are preferring a solo setup not the usual messy random tactics or even two people sitting in the same place
