hows that work, smoke will go through skylight ?

Yes, it doesn't block it off completely but it forces them to reposition slightly to see through the small gap, making follow up wallbanging more reliable.

They'll be in rafters possibly, flash might be better. Sounds good overall, coordinated nades. Vs russians, they may just rush lobby while you stand with nades in hand :)

If pop flashes worked, the guy on rafters above hut may be tempted to drop down. The nade is a precaution :)

Rushing lobby make be a problem but if first man in blows squeaky with nade, then watches the entrance, second guy should be able to get off mid smoke comfortably from behind the beige tanks. There is a spot which you can back up against the wall so you hit it reliably every time.

CTs rushing through hut could be annoying so it's wise to smoke off the inside entrance first by bouncing off the block wall. The smoke will cover the follow up pop flashes, which counters the hinderance having to push through the smoke.

He said he played badly the whole evening, not just one game. That aside having spoke to robbo in game, i can only imagine his 'bad mood' would be mild at best.

Give up, really? its a ridiculous response. And to suggest he isn't rational or normal because he would dwell on not performing well in something he obviously puts effort in to doing is silly.

Just pointing out that it is not a normal or rational response to be in a bad mood for a whole day because you lost at a computer game the night before.

haha. Don't get me wrong, its a love/hate thing. Personally I don't see a difference to being down after watching my favourite football team lose - until the next game when they win. That said, I probably do have a number of mental issues so thanks for your advice!

I think we all have some 'kwirks' not considered normal.

And good shout on the footy analogy.

I understand the desire people have to learn and use smoke tactics, but put up against a player or team that know what they're doing and it won't make much difference and could even work against you.

I'll probably get slated for that comment but it's true. I play with some people whose knowledge of smoke and flashpoints astounds me, yet put me on the receiving end of those points and I'll come out on top. Certain smokes can be crucial to be honest (the only glaringly obvious one that comes to mind is on Inferno - banana to CT spawn entrance to small site) but others are quite pointless. For example, smoking the hut exit as T's. Excellent, the CT can't see you move around inside the hut, however if you decide to push through the smoke you are at a disadvantage. "Ahhh" I hear you say, "But I'll pop a flash too". Great. Any (highly) competent player would be able to take you down whilst being blind - you've got one entrance point, which is smoked and your aim is already trained on it. Being flashed removes your ability to see (very temporarily) which means you rely on one thing - timing. If you think your opponents would push straight after a flash, you hold mouse 1 and you wipe the floor with them.

Don't take this post as me having a go, because I'm really not and in fact encourage people to learn map smoke points, but relying on them as gospel will only end up with you getting angry at yourself, your team and resorting to calling cheats as the other team repeatedly reads what you're doing and counters it with great precision.

playing against low ranks smokes dont really work. as they will just push through them regardless. once you get more knowledgeable and to the higher ranks you wouldnt dare push through a smoke.

On that specific point, you can actually place the smoke just far enough away from the hut so you can run through a gap in the side, but it still covers your flashes.

Re avoiding the spray... just flash twice? In that time the guy spraying down from rafters will almost certainly be out of bullets.

No worries. All I'm saying is it definitely benefitted me in a game on dust2 afterwords. Knowing the pop flashes through door and over wall helped me retake site after bomb was down in a 2v1. Probably would have just died through indecision before.

Like I said, it was not my intention to cause any offence. Knowing someone who has a gaming addiction, and knowing their personal lives have suffered a lot because of it, I always feel a bit concerned when I hear people make statements like you did over a computer game. It reminds me of the same kind of behaviour I have seen in them. :(

Sorry for being a bit too quick to jump in. Its just something that is close to my heart.

Maybe I'm not as bad as I thought. I was probably just having a bad day.

Does F2 rebuy equipment anymore? It only rebuys my primary weapon for me.

Also I wasn't pressing F1. :p

Anyone help plox?

Also does anyone know if they broke the regions for the servers as I've only been in EU servers when before I was always in UK ones.

I found a website that outputs buy binds that you can add to your autoexec. Seems really handy as you can use it for single items or an entire loadout. It is web based as well, so nothing to download as far a I can see. YOu just copy the output and paste it straight into your autoexec.

Pretty neat... thing is, are there really any config commands that are worthwhile these days? I mean stuff like the b1-1.6 days (rate, cl_updaterate, cl_cmdrate etc). As far as I can tell they have updated the base settings to reflect modern internet and FPS.

The only command that I can see makes any difference these days that I use is -freq 120 in launch options to make sure my monitor is outputting 120hz.

This is pretty good too: crosshair maker :)
