CS:GO Discussion

Guys, Im fairly new to CS:GO and by my own admission am totally rubbish.

One thing I seem to notice a lot is if I end up 1 v 1 with someone face to face, I shoot them and see the blood effect and think I must have hit them at least 3 times, but when I inevitably die first and the dialog box comes up it says I never did any damage, although I see blood and ppl on my TS watching say they saw the same. Could this be ping, rates etc or am I just as bad as I think

Client side you have hit them, but because of 64 tick servers it isn't registered on the server before you get killed by them

I'm in the same boat mate. I am pretty terrible. I also see the same phenomena. The other day I shot a guy in the head at point blank and saw the blood, turned around thinking he was down then he shot me in the back. According to the game I had done 0 dmg. I have seen the damage report on the model of the enemy player many times only to be told by the console/dialogue box I have hit nothing. I have it a lot with grenades too. Put one at the feet of a player and hit nothing.

I have it a lot, and also the other way. 1v1 a guy and I hear him shoot his Desert Eagle twice, game says he hit me 3 times. So on and so forth.

Just one of them things. The hit reg feels a bit weird, but I dont know if that is lack of experience or bugged mechanics/netcode.

What's everyone's headshot percentage? I'm sitting on 45% and I'm wondering if it corelates with rank, in the long term.

45 should be good unless you are taking too much time to aim and dying because of it. Normally HS means you kill much faster, whats your favourite gun.
I think a lot of shotgun might raise HS % because thats mostly when its lethal, the rifles can just be spammed and work anyway
HS also knocks off the enemy aim if not lethal

45 is way above average afaik

If the other guy gets a hs on you, it doesnt matter if you appear to hit him. All your hits then disappear because you are dead and he hs you first, you just didnt know yet.

The bullets in game are more like arrows. You fire, then it takes time to connect. It can feel like a second, with multiple enemies I might turn away mid fire and attack the other knowing in a second either Ive already hit them and they'll be dead (or I will be and it wont matter)

Theres a weird thing I noticed with 128tick for esea where it gives me more hs, I think its just because the spray is more interpolated so normally I'd trace their outline but 128 gives more chance of a hit between each registry
or calculation by the server of where Im firing perhaps

you must have all the most expensive skins to get so many headshots.

But seriously, i'm MGE with 33.3% headshot ratio, i tend to go for spray downs rather then headshot taps though

mg2 and 27.3% HS in competitive matches. Come at me.

Whats your favourite gun though ? i use m4a4 not a1 now I almost never use awp plus Im always playing arms race where it has to be hs. Probably includes that not just comp

I couldnt find hs in game, raider posted this site and it filters out non comp games
http://csgo-stats.com

35% hs total but 31% in comp. My profile says 1600 hours but this site recognises 245hr of comp games

My profile has loads of hrs now in CSGO, but at least 50% is just where I have forgotten to close the game. I've done 190hrs not the 500hr steam says.

I am meant to have 180 hrs in ARMA3 but have only actually played about 10hrs in total before realising it, just like the previous iterations are horrifically bad for MP. Where the 180 hrs comes from is where I left my PC on when I went away on holiday, came back and realised it was still on High Perf not Balanced Perf and hadn't gone to sleep

This. Plus oodles of idling in lobbies.

Great match between Kazakhstan and Denmark - much closer than I anticipated, with some great plays from mou; just raped with the awp, even on 200ping.

Surprised by Glade and MSL as well, both had some brilliant plays. Cheeky little bet win too, now I just need Serbia to pull it out of the bag :p

Nah man, not betting either of the two you gave me... Almost put them both on Denmark (would have had 1.5 worth winning then) but felt too guilty! ;)

Serbia has more experience as a team, poland has better players :o

22p lost xD Won 88p in my first two bets, so not bothered - hardly betting any real worth, only skins that have dropped!

Betting aside and relating to the talk about stats...

MGE rank (somehow, long overdue a rank up): 42.4% headshots in competitive apparently. Although I don't think that stat is purely for matchmaking competitive, I think it's public competitive stats too?
