CS:GO Discussion

Ok so STOP playing casual, everything you see in this game mode is wrong and will only make you do stupid stuff. Play some death match to learn the guns. The main guns you want to learn are the M4A1/A4 and the AK47 (pls don't use AWP on Dm until you may have decided to become an AWP'er).

Assault.....erm, no one plays that map...unless they are insane

:p colour me peculiar.

I'll focus on deathmatch then - I'd been trying to learn the weapons and revised maps as well as the player models without upsetting the established players too much.

Going back to the sound discussion - I seem to be able to hear footsteps from miles away. I can crouch in one place, track their direction through the walls and wait for people to run in to me. I'm aware that people should be walking so the don't give their position away but the default footstep sound seems a bit high to me!

That's because in casual everyone runs round like a headless chicken!
Nothing wrong with casual to get used to the maps and where the bomb plant site entries are, DM is definately better for improving aim though and trying out various guns.

The vertical sound is garbage in CSGO.

I find it how impressive how they've managed to make the sound worse from 1.6/Source.

Never really thought about that actually. No wonders I get confused on nuke when I hear footsteps.

On many maps if you listen carefully, you can hear someone like if they were in the wall. That's why I said it previously that the game is buggy as hell :D

Edit:

The 'S' on Train the sound inside the wall sounds like someone was running constantly in this same place inside the wall...

I still find it crazy that I can hear long doors from short. It just seems strange, but giving where they are on the map, it probably makes sense.

That's the way it should be, if you have CS 1.6 try playing on some public servers and see for yourself how accurate the sound is there :)

although I'm not very good at it, I've been playing CS:GO for a while now and I'm with you there!. CSS had such a fantastic soundstage which was very helpful / useful.

I find the sound in CG:GO awful though. there's a definite problem with determining the height of the sound and I still think the position of thesound is muddled up.

I recently added some tags to the launch script to address some of this and I think it may have done something.

:)

Funny you should post this, well to me anyhow as the other day I was on a personal mission in DM to get seven Juan's with one clip, I never came close. :)
Though it was a memory of your CS Deagle gif that propmted it. It was yours was it not that I am thinking of?
