CS:GO Discussion

Sorry, once more, what are the benefits now, whilst playing CSGO that is? ;)

Played a few games with you now J and over half while on T.S. we were not a full five leaving the randoms clueless to comms, maybe different now and always a full stack?

Sorry to say it, though I presume there is no way to remove that data from client side? I suppose every FPS for the past decade or so would have done so already to thwart wall hack boxes or chams.
Would be good if they could only allow client side to know where you were, just a very short distance before being visible to them; if you know what I mean? Like as short a distance as possible before rounding corners, that's got to be possible.

That 3klik vid reminds me of that Mirage game I played with you a week or so ago, where I was camped at bench and got wall banged. I did not know there was penetration through that, let alone that my barrel was sticking out. :) I played awful that game, let alone getting next to no info as you lot were on T.S.
Why oh why use T.S. over the ingame comms, especially after the new codec. Is it only because it is "cool" to be on some kind of private voice comm like Vent. e.t.c. :p Seriously though what are the benefits?

A lot of games work using a potential visible set or similar techniques where the level is broken up into chunks for occlusion testing - while today we do have the CPU/GPU power for finer grain occlusion culling including the positional data, etc. for other players your always going to need 1 or more previous frame(s) of reference for smooth player movement/prediction client side.

How are these two reasons? (Amongst others).

The previous codec was horrific, you can't individually adjust player volume and what happens if we aren't in game and just want to chat?
[...]
Oh also you try playing ESEA where there is 10sec cutoff before deadtalk is activated and 0 sec in a league format. Hence TS is used by teams so be able to relay info after death. Silvers...Silvers everywhere

Oh Cookeh, did you need to come to his rescue and carry him as per. :D

Edit. The new codec is meant to be slightly better than any alternative?

Somebody has to rescue him, carry him, reassure him, etc... He's just not fully capable of doing it himself yet. Baby steps. ;) :p

The new codec is substantially better in terms of audio quality. It still doesn't allow for changing volumes (isn't it annoying when there is that one really quiet guy that you just cant hear? Or when some moron is shouting and screaming everything?) The new codec also doesn't get around system such as those used within ESEA.

If the whole team is on Teamspeak, fair enough. If you're ignoring/not passing info to a person/people not on Teamspeak then that's low.

So only really useful before the codec update, in BF4 and ESEA games; o.k..

*Edit. I would be interested to find out what comms pro teams use, from a quick look it seems cloud 9 and elevate use ingame; not LEM's who think they are pro.

Don't forget about when talking to friends outside of csgo too

1. Teamspeak gives me the ability not to use push to talk (not sure if I can use this in CS)
2. We just chat bout random stuff before and after the game. It's just more flexible.

New codes is good, much better quality than before, but I still think TS is marginally better.

Well
I played my first two comp matches ever today

First match lost, but the team were friendly at least :)
Second match won, team were... not so friendly let's say

Good fun though, so all is good

Just watched the best player I have seen in Overwatch.
If you want to learn anything about crosshair placement I highly recommend havin' a ganders.

Make sure you have no other Overwatch case downloaded or simple overwrite any existing one in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo

This could be a big fail as I am not sure you can share Overwatch cases. The guy is amazing though, is he a pro; maybe it's Cookeh? :D

How can I watch this if I don't have overwatch?

I swapped it in and didnt seem to work. Just record it with bandicam and it'll be fairly small.
Just a small thing but some cheer for those in the mm trenches, I had a silly game vs some wall hacks which caused a MGE to derank. If you turned your back on smoke they'd push just that second after and lots of obvious stuff, I reported as I was 90% sure and he was overwatched then banned within 24hr. Rare but it can happen that quick, a few times now. OW is when red text ban but it dont say vac basically I think. So game loss is reversed.
People are really desperate to gain their ranks back, so more then Im used to seeing; its very obvious in demos

Got a Stat-trak Hyperbeast Field tested.
that, masterpiece or dragon king I like
