CS:GO Discussion

Anyone recommend a good DM server, decent ping none of that AMX mod "HEADSHOT" "MULTIKILL" sound files. Doesn't have to be HSMOD either annnnd preferably not FFA as getting spawn kill or shot in the back numerous is annoying

Fragshack Spen or search csgo retake server maybe

Anything above MG1 is good.
Anything above mg is above average but that average would include all the casuals who play a few times a week. Hopefully anyone who plays mainly csgo would be able to aim higher

mm is a massive trolling expedition, its a perfect storm to wind people up imo. My view on rank and mm is its often inaccurate, I almost wish it displayed no visible rank at all and half these kids would disappear. Just switch to xp only display, it might happen who knows
Havent really used m4a1 for 6 months so thats my mission currently to be not bad with it. Just trying to get first few shots onto heads more often by killing lots of ADAD bots with accurate flick as per the vid

Anyone been watching the Intel masters at Gamescom. What do you think about the new system they have in place with each team having 5 lives. The viewers get to choose the maps (kind of) and the winner of a map gets to choose the teams playing in the next map.

Random maps is ok I think, I don't like how winners pick who plays who etc... random would be more fair.

you can set a download filter to stop those sounds i think.

They are trying to kill off the weaker teams I think, not 100% on the reasoning but it might be so they have time to counter strat harder teams?

I like the more random format, cs is naturally a repetitive game already. I like it on ESEA when it ends up going to those super old school maps instead of normal ones, obviously its harder.

I believe minimum for payout is $1 on lounge now for anyone who places random drops on there ie. overdogs

I can't get past DMG rank :( Every time I attain it, I end up dropping back down to MGE after a few games, then back up again, then back down again. Most frustrating.

Now I know that's because I must not have the skill level to actually be a DMG, but I seek advice from you fine ocukers - other than just 'playing more' what can I do to improve at this level??

A few friends of mine are getting stuck at that rank too, I think it's mainly making sure everyone on the team is following the basics. Unfortunately you usually have a few players doing random stuff like always force buying crappy weapons without armour every round.

Make sure you're buying as a team, don't always force buy weapons without being able to afford full armour. Do eco rounds together, and try some CT rushes or stacks on eco rounds to try and force out a few kills and save some weapons. Know when to save instead of forcing a defuse / plant. You can save with 2 players still alive and go for exit frags to reduce enemy economy. I see a lot of games where 3 players will die, and because there's 2 CT's left, you feel obliged to try and re-take the site and defuse. Don't bother unless you can get a quick kill. If they have full site control, just wait them out for a few exit frags then you can usually re-buy next round instead of having to eco.

If you're struggling with your aim, try lowering your sensitivity a little and work on crosshair placement (putting crosshair in correct position before actually peeking around corners). Find a decent deathmatch community server, the official servers are quite slow and practice your aim and spraying.

Make better use of smokes and flashes, push as a team and keep communication short and clear.

Don't rage at others, and just mute / report others that rage at you :)

All of that is really good advice ^.

The only thing I would add is be self critical of your own decision making, re-watch your own demo even.
Am I in a good position if the enemy pushes? Do I have a crossfire setup with my team mate? Where is my fall back position, am I peeking too much? Am I slowing pushes with smokes/flashes/nades/mollys?
Similarly on T side, am I in position for trade frags? Has the enemy been holding the exact same spots every round? Once the bomb is down, am I in a good after plant position? Am I peeking too soon allowing an easier retake?

Good players are more consistent because their in game decision making is better. If you're relying on your aim to solely carry you all the time you will have inconsistent games.

I see a lot of T side - after the bomb is down - the T's are still going ham and pushing all over the place. Just sit back, slow CT's with every flash and smoke you have and just set up some cross fires.

And on CT, if all else fails, smoke the bomb and defuse :D

I can't get past DMG rank for the simple reason that I don't play enough. I'm now at DMG for the second time after 53 wins. I haven't played when there has been ban waves so I haven't swept up through the points system to take advantage of the skill gap. The people I play with are now all MGE (each after 120+ wins) and the matchings we get are usually MG2 - LE. The last match we had was 2 MGE, a DMG and an LE. The match actually tied in the end but we were down 12-6 and pulled it back to 15-15 with an AFK and one pubber. Individually I can play fantastically and my aim is great (War Thunder is actually helping this bizzarely!). The rounds we lose are generally down to bad teammates. That's not me being nasty to the people I play with, but there is a definite skill gap between myself and them. To put it in persepective I played with some other chums that consisted of an LEM, an SMFC and two GEs. The match we had consisted of solid SMFCs, with one of them using a blatant trigger bot upon demo-review, and even then I was top scoring.

And I won't solo queue; I'd rather watch paint dry.

Just keep being consistent and as others have pointed out, be critical of yourself. That doesn't mean getting angry at mistakes, but learning from them. Why did that person get a peak shot onto you? Could you have held a different angle? Was that flash in a good place? Could I have smoked myself into the site? etc. Learn to take a loss and not take it to heart, move on and keep playing. Stay positive and keep fragging :)

I give this guys 12hrs max. How dare you come into here and fragrantly waive your use of good sense round here. I feel ashamed that it's come to this.

It's no armor glock rush mid every round fully expecting to out shoot the CT awp'er or NOTHING!!!!!

Always feels good winning against an obvious wallhacker who fails to carry his team. 9-2 to them at one point and the guy was spamming easy, finished 16-14 to us :D
