CS:GO Discussion

I've just started getting back into cs. Last properly played it on cs 1.6 when I was good. Now I'm a noob, finding it particularly frustrating. Also see high rankers playing casual a lot which isn't cool.

Does anyone know a good noob friendly server?

MGE to DMG & DMG to LE is one of the hardest rank up to get.

One thing I learned is that you really need a 5 man team and no soloing once you get to DMG. I'm part of a group that play office on competitive we have around 6-7 teammates that share the competitive plays, TeamSpeak is a must, learn the maps your going to play smokes, flashes and one key point "WARM UP".

I have played many games with no warm up and my k/d ratio is shocking, however once we switch from either CT / T on half time my kill ratio changes. Last night we were loosing 11-4 on Office starting on CT, I had 2 kills to 10 deaths "ouch". switch to T side and ended drawing 15-15. my kills were 22 - 15. I'm currently ranking at LE but most team players are on LEM with one SMFC, there is no difference in skills from LE/LEM to SMFC accept for flick shots and pre-firing.

I think CS:GO is getting pretty big now - following the 'scene' a little and looking forward to watching some of the major soon.

Bit of a Cloud9 fan seeing as they're all funny guys and seem to have the most fun with it.

after the bomb is down - the T's are still going ham and pushing all over the place. Just sit back, slow CT's with every flash and smoke you have and just set up some cross fires.
100%, Im printing this off and putting it in a picture frame :D Its reflex or hype play that does it, write it down and it adds up but in that moment its all go and on the surface how can frags be a bad thing. It always seems I get out aimed so Im biased to this idea vs somebody who top frags and relys on their ability but either way Iam sure it is a mistake appearing at every rank and mucho kudos for saying so :D

Doing 'nothing' is bad or seems bad but can work because the ct checks say 6 different places and might literally walk in front of you and miss. I think the compromise is half peeks where you can see if they are close or getting close but are not really visible from any distance. Im told that is super irritating to watch but also vs a wh they know which side of a box you are peeking so not actually completing the full peek works and you are wasting their defuse time while still being aware of their positioning.

Probably old hat to many but w/e Ive seen novas beat a GE/pro with such stuff

Office is a super biased map though. Its not open at all though you can spam walls on ct I think

Mouz is nearly beating Envy on train

Does anyone know a good noob friendly server?
Fragmasters I think. Play arms race for very fast games imo, I think its easy enough but its not proper cs at all just weapon spray etc

I think CS:GO is getting pretty big now -
The recent change to XP rank system before competetive lost players apparently. 3% down

On a side note, what does every do with skins and cases they get from drops? I've probably opened 10-20 during my time playing, but now I just sell cases. The only thing I've ever won that was decent as a Ak47 Redline, I managed to sell that for abotu £18 which payed back all the keys I had bought previously, so probably about even now.

The community servers are fairly noob friendly although you will be forced to play on 64 tick servers which isn't ideal.

Will endeavour to list some decent DM servers when I am home from work later.

Cheers, that'd be great. I do tend to prefer the classic cs style but a bit of DM is good too.

So, against my better judgement (and comment only a couple of days ago in this thread), and friend and I decided to 2-man MM.

My biggest fear was met right away, 3 russians. They don't speak a word of English nor even attempt to, they don't type in chat, nothing.

To make matters worse, they were awful. Up until the 8th/9th round where one chap suddenly picked it up. After managing to spec him it was blindingly obvious he was walling, sigh.

from no on, 5-man's ONLY! ;)w

Dave why would you ever be playing office?

It's one we all enjoy the map, its not a biased map at all it can go either way depending where the hostages are, if one is on side hall then its difficult t side makes it interesting. You do get the occasional wall bangers but not as much as you have would expect

All hostage maps are T sided I would argue maybe thats why we dont play them. In old CS we used to , so sad :(
Also Season is T sided imo due to rotation time I guess. Cant think of any others.

Only one server, one map worked in source for me and it was office. So I played about 4 years of office only, let me know if you got a space next time you queue for that one

Changed to 800x600. Need to change my sens again now, though its not completely off [1.584]
imprecise on this setup, reverted back

Finally got to dmg on my main the other day :D playing with Joel and Robbo, we actually had some reasonable randoms which was nice.

Then did some solo on one of my other accounts and just got morons, who either were just silent all the time or just crying as there was someone good on the other side. :(
