CS:GO Discussion

Csgo was just on sky sports news talking about doping, gambling and whether it's a sport. I don't mind Alex Hammond talking about it.

TBF the tournament numbers CSGO is pulling in currently are a lot higher than most football games and / or other sports :D

In what way? Millions watch a Barclays premier league game world wide. A World Cup final is something near half a billion.

E-sports is definitely growing but it's a long way off overtaking the top sports.

I think a lot comes down to our attitude. Throughout most games I've played at a high level (WoW PvE and PvP, CS 1.6 and GO) English people are among the most arrogant, a lot of us think we are gods gift often resulting in leaving little room to improve or even function in a team.

I was literally just thinking on the lines of this haha

Yes and why would you become a pro gamer in this country. Train your ass off only to be called a loser, in countries like Sweden they are viewed as successful people.

Still all that said with our population we still should be able to forge together a 5 man team.

I thought he was being sarcastic though?

Yeah, I sorta thought so, wasn't sure. If he was then I sorta helped him make his point I guess.

league final is once a year ? majors are more, its some relevance

efrag beat renegades who play at majors, efrag is uk maybe ?

UK beating germany right now, - http://www.hltv.org/match/2298267-united-kingdom-germany-world-championships-2015-european-qualifier

That one is, but I'm guessing so is ESL Frunkfurt (or wherever) is once a year too?
There are also other cup finals, UEFA cup, FA cup, league cup, World club cup, World Cup, European cup, plus cups from other leagues around the world.

It wouldn't even surprise me if the big Premiership games did get more than 1 million viewers world wide.
