CS:GO Discussion

Been playing now for a few weeks (but not a lot)

Thought I would try a "competitive" match.

Dust2 --- yes this seems to be the only map.

As terrorist 4 of my team bought AWP and camped the spawn. Won almost every round as CT kept rushing them...
As CT terrorist still camped the spawn, had some fun killing them but they rarely planted the bomb.

So not exactly Competitive, like a slightly slower deathmatch.

I assume this will get better as I rank up, im only rank 3 or something at the moment.
Main problem is that im not actually playing very well, missing a lot and not really used to the weapons. So if I rank up games might be more tactical, but ill be too crap to kill anyone :P

I think ill stop playing dust2 altogether and try and learn some other maps.
Some are the same as 1.6 but im still tripping over things on CS:GO

try some deathmatch.

This will get you used to all sorts of weapons and chose the active group of maps.....practice, practice, practice !!!!!

Dust2 was the first map I played but it really seems to attract really irritating players, especially when you solo queue. Slowly learning the other maps myself, cache is my fav at the moment. Played one game of overpass and that was really enjoyable.

learn dust2/cache/cobble/mirage/inferno

That give you a decent amount - learn the calls/placenames etc - watch youtube videos or pro's etc and learn them inside out.

Yeah Dust2 is a dangerous map to choose if you are in solo. The vast majority will either kick you as a 4 premade team, choose to not talk English, or just mess about the whole game.

I found that the map you are least likely to encounter these certain species is cobble.

The most irritating thing about solo these days is that you get matched up with 3-4 others in Teamspeak!!!

Get out of TS when you are not a group of 5, its s1mple.

Its more selfish than that one dude who has 7k and buys an awp instead of dropping for the bankrupt team mates.

See, I usually play with a mate or two and am constantly in TS with in game audio muted simply due to the number of random dudes who join the team and don't know when to STFU!

The number of times I've been last man standing and trying to listen out, only to have someone having music/random TV show/etc blaring down the mic is ridiculous.

In fairness, I'll test the waters on the initial rounds and if people are being a nuisance on mic, I'll just disable it completely and use text.

Any1 see the H3H3 video on ProSyndicate and TmarTn, hilarious stuff and shady as all hell

Wont embed due to some minor swearies

Yep. The same situation for m0e_tv and many more.
What H3 doesnt state clearly enough imo, is that being the owners; or being in contact with people who run these sites, they know the rolls in advance. So they put small bets on negative outcomes that they know and large bets on the positives.

It's absolutely the worst thing you could portray to these people who are essentially paying your salary (the viewers/subscribers). The community needs to clearly show how wrong this is and to not support their channels or view their content, that should sort it nicely.

Please watch for a better understanding of all this and what it means: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO22YayYqYE

Reposting this because it seems pretty useful info:
TIL There Is a Command To Adjust Your Teammates Voice IndividuallyTips & Guides

All you have to do is type "status" in console, get the steam Id 32 and do this command.
voice_scale_<steam id 32 number> [Number from 0.00 to 1.00]
Example of "number" is 0.53
Is anyone on the front page of this thread still around at all

Your lucky if the worst game is 4 team mates working together even if it excludes you. The s1mple bit must rate as pretty ironic ? :D

XD no no, i wouldn't be bothered if they were playing conventional CS, they are in TS and messing about all game. Then they will gang up and kick you in the last round even if you played well. I've had the worst of the worst matches so I know when to count my blessings. I dont solo anymore.

In matches that are higher skill set it is next to impossible to win or even enjoy a game where there is no information being given.
