CS:GO Discussion

Thanks for the thorough answers :)

Looking forward to the next operation!

I'm also having a go at map design. I used to make maps for Quake 2 using an editor called Worldcraft 1.6, which became an editor for Half Life (Worldcraft 2), which it seems Valve bought and renamed to Hammer, and is still the editor for CS:GO, so it all looked very familiar when I started the SDK :)

Start a thread for your map progress if you make any :)

I too have been going back to my DCK roots (Doom version of what would later become Worldcraft :D ) and working on a CS map. Would be great for support/suggestions/motivation!

Cannot wait to try and get back into this again, been trying to play on and off the past 2 years on a 750m! cant even manage a smooth 50fps on low settings @ 768p.

Some of these clips you guys post are silky smooth ahh i miss that level of framerate.

Is that worse then a 8800gt . CSGO is pretty easy going compared to some games. Laptop anything isnt ideal for games imo but theres a few who do it somehow

Definetly make a map if you are creative like that, its very profitable I hear [12k op & 100k+ for main map?]. fmpone has streamed before, posts some. Not sure if he'll get another one in the game but Cache was just an operation map for a while. It became a main map about 2 years ago with breakout

Every map thats ever been in the game offically is installed on your machine as part of csgo. So Castle from 2 years ago even if you brand new player is available if you want your lobby to play it, I believe that possible somehow. Just not ranked competitive, that definitely doesnt work but casual hosting it would as all players have these old maps in cs directory

rlewis is talking about opskins rip everything :o

Download the demo and find out!

Can you get multi angle Demo's from any game now?

or do personal demo's now include being able to switch to all characters?

Im new to CSGO and have only really played source in which you could only get the multi perspective (player switching) demo by being a server owner and installing CSTV :|

yep its been that long.

Haha yeah just go into match history and click on the download bit, once thats done you can watch any player you want in the game or watch from the free camera. Once you are in the demo you can hit ctrl f2 and that will bring up a little panel where you can change the round or fast forward or slow mo.

That's fantastic! where was this function when I was raging at "hacking" Germans in Source. Would have stopped me complaining about them for ...oh, 7 years.

Is it just for competitive matchmaking, Or public games too?

I'd find out myself but waiting for my new rig to show up.

Had my first clutch win, me v 5 on mirage. Final kill I was waiting for bomb defuse in palace !! Forgot I could dl the game and watch it. How long are they available for ??

Anyone else noticed a vast improvement when it comes to input lag by setting the flip queue size on AMD hardware to 1? Massive, massive improvement in responsiveness. Using a 6970 until my "new" 290x gets here, which means I'm stuck on legacy drivers for now so I'm not sure if this issue has been fixed on newer crimson drivers or not. If you are unsure then do check it out: link. Fps is not great with it set to 1, but my god is the game responsive! Now it feels like it did with my GTX 980 ti with pre-rendered frame set to 1.

Had a bit of a LAN with some friends this week, we had such a mix of ranks it was ridiculous!

- 1x SMFC
- 1x LEM
- 1x LE
- 1x DMG
- 1x Silver 4

Some games were all LEM's, some were all DMG's with a couple of SMFC's thrown in. We even had 2 with 1x Global and the rest between double AK > LE!

Some close games but was fun all in all.
