CS:GO Discussion

Its quite funny really that they let it go on and only now lawyers are involved have Valve had to do something.

As one of the articles I read pointed out, they've made a ton of cash from this and were reluctant to give it up !

Call me paranoid but I have flogged all my valuable skins

You're paranoid! haha, I have been umming and arring about what the prices will do but I've convinced myself it will only the the high tier stuff (over the max steam market price) that will mainly be affected as there will no longer be a outlet to sell this stuff that is trustworthy if opskins goes down.

I remember before all the gambling kicked off the prices where pretty much what they are now and it didn't really change that much when all the sites opened up only that dragon lores and doppler saphhires and rubies etc started going for silly money instead of max steam market (which is still silly).

Ill keep the set up I have now (spose my most expensive thing is my rust flip anyway) but I prob won't invest any more into it.

if anyone would like to MM, feel free to add me.

i played cs from 99-06 and was very good, just returned to CSGO a coupe of months ago and it is quite amazing how it all comes back to me after such a long break.

i'm currently MGE but soloQ does get tiresome with losses purely down to no info being given from your team.

Ps.. @Doctor.

Download csgo demo manager

It's good to keep an eye on your games and all the info about them, it can download your demos for you and you can mark suspected Cheaters. It will notify you if they get banned.

Worse then the gambling thing is players still throwing matches for cash advantage -

The skins thing wont be epic fallout imo. I presume they'll work out a way to have lounge continue, like most sports theres nothing wrong with skins on matches. There was a few sites not even mentioned, opening a case is a gamble btw

Dragonlore price does knock all the way down to mil spec skins via upgrades. I think operations which drop cobble skins are more of influence then anything thats been going on

Had a bit of a LAN with some friends this week, we had such a mix of ranks it was ridiculous!

- 1x SMFC
- 1x LEM
- 1x LE
- 1x DMG
- 1x Silver 4

Some games were all LEM's, some were all DMG's with a couple of SMFC's thrown in. We even had 2 with 1x Global and the rest between double AK > LE!

Some close games but was fun all in all.

Play scrims like this every week on the Reddit servers, they'll be a sticky thread in 12hrs. I recommend it to most people, dont get stuck in the mm madness forever. Lobsided games can be a pain but usually it works out surprisingly often to be a good game

they're only an outlet for selling skins.
Valve insists you cant sell skins for cash. Its not a proxy currency or they'd be subject to all sorts of finance oversight by regulators. I dont think they'll goto this extreme but its possible.
Even then you can still swap a skin via game gifts so they'd never stop people cashing out, but they may object to one person automating it I guess

Somehow managed to run into a team of 5 trolls who didn't know each other last night. They won pistol on inferno t side then were 6-1 down and started just running around T spawn.

Ah well easy rank up. MG2 now :)

Had enough of my expensive skins, life commitments made me wanting of more money. Promptly sold the ~£500 odd of knives, AWPs etc. on OP skins and my bank account is happier. Going to stick to the less expensive skins - purely cause nobody buys them! :p
