are you just using native 4:3 (black bars on the sides) or stretched

im using 4:3 stretched, not sure how to get the black bars unless i use some dodgy weird res.
any 4:3 would give you black bars (unless using a 4:3 monitor of course) but you can stretch it.

also for anyone wondering why to change it to a funky res which is 4:3.

something must be knackered with my monitor. Im playing 4:3 1024x768 and its full screen no black bars. Same with all the other 4:3 options-using a 1080p 16:9 monitor or at least thats what i bought it as. Asus VE22H or something.
Yeah it is easier to hit hs for sure, gets even better once you get used to you mouse again with the stretced res.

Hadn't played CS since the Revolvo update (although my scrubby mate loves playing Arms race on my PC hence hadn't uninstalled).
Thought I'd play a game on an old (but never used cept arms race) smurf account. Ranked LE despite feeling (and looking) like a complete bot, got LEM after 4 more games so pretty happy about that.
So, cu in another 9-11 months

why BB? surely just play with 16:9 instead as you'll gain no benefit (except frames)
It's all PREFERENCE. I started on 16:9 1920 x 1080 and now prefer the feel of 1024 x 768 BB's the advantage/benefit for me is that I play better with BB

stretch alters gameplay which I prefer but bb is more consistent. I prefer 1280x1024 which was my res when cs first came out and its 5:4
I have one machine I play 640x480 on, gets 60fps.
They are testing DE_Aztec today apparently, I recommend private server games at least once a week for good health

Simply because it feels more comfortable for me as I get distracted easily.
Like a lot of things, if you feel more confident (even from a technically less efficient setup), that extra confidence can really help in games like this.

last 2 games last night i hit 30 in the first and 29 in the 2nd. at MG1/2 level

Nice Joel!!! I know I am somewhat late, but how is your new (not so new now) place and real internet?
haha, around 11 months late to the party. but yeah its actually internet now.
ping down to 15-30 from 150-300
internet speed up to 60 from 1.5
place is good albeit very hard work. complete renovation while living in it with 2 children and working full time and apart from some of the electrics/plumbing everything was done by me.
i did some electrics, some plumbing, plastering, tiling, dry lining, removing walls, building walls, fitting kitchens, removing fireplaces... basically everything.
