This wasn't VAC, it was a server var check update, so what you are seeing here is really the tip of the iceberg of the number of hack users who have been effected.
Effectively, the 4k banned were the people who were caught before word got round to the others to immediately stop hacking. The number of people who have hacks they cannot currently use is likely much higher.

I would imagine it sucks the fun out of the game. Unless you like trolling.
Well it will turn into a VAC ban, the untrusted ban is the instant boot part of the ban.
Yeah this is what I just can't get my head around
Why play a competitive game if you are going to cheat out the competitive side of the game surely this is just wasting time and not achieving anything

Going on a temporary hiatus until this game has some seriously updated anticheat or a wave of 50k+ bans. Sick of cheaters, especially Eastern block cheaters.
i go 10-1 in the first 5 rounds, it starts 5-0 in rounds. I get called a cheater, the game then finishes 7-16 rounds with their top fragger 35-9.
Basically since they thought i was cheating someone on their team toggled and the remaining rounds went 2-16. COMPLETE RUBBISH. This happens 5-6 games in a row.

Started using ESEA and so far am really liking it. 3rd day in people have been more than friendly with great mics and I feel the skill level is much higher.
Used Faceit also but didn't like it that was even worse than MM for randoms.
128tick also seems better on ESEA vs Faceit I can't quite put my finger on what it is but server ping and latency is much lower. Playing games with a ping of 11ms and highest I have had was 30ms vs MM or faceit is excellent
If you really into CSGO I do recommend you try ESEA £6 for one month isn't too bad

This happens a lot, one of the enemy team becomes godlike when their losing badly. Smacks of rage hacking.
They aren't good enough to win otherwise. But even then, the win must feel fake.
Even when I lose a match (I only play solo) and I top my team's board, it still feels great. Very exciting game, cheating must remove the excitement.
Watch GoTV/recordings back and you'll realise that a lot of the people labelled as cheaters are not actually cheating.

I am referencing the blatant ones that are obvious in demos and even in game. I have several notifications about people I reported being banned
They become obvious when they can't keep calm and can't hide the cheats very well. Nobody is talking about ESEA and the pro scene, only the recent ban wave and how many there was.
i had the same aswell, i try download as many as my demos as i can (use csgo demo manager too) but couldnt get any last night.
You can tell this game/hitbox is screwed.
I was holding in banana on Inferno as my team pushed B. Had P90 - gunned the guy going up banana, blood all over the walls, he shot me.
