Texture filtering x 8
Motion blur disabled
Playing at 1080p and get 200+ FPS.

I need to play with my settings though, so see if the lower texture models makes it easier to spot enemies.

joelk2, do you get 400 fps stable?

I have all my settings on lowest and I can't keep a stable 220 fps at 1080p, all lowest settings, even with a i5-2500k and a 560ti. Also, why have shaders on high? does it give you any particular benefits?

So is 400FPS the holy FPS grail for this game? It seems like every game has one! :)

How do you get on with 120hz & 144hz monitors relating to the FPS? Does it make a difference? I have a 144hz monitor, and a fairly quick rig (i7 4770, 16GB RAM, R9 290, SSD etc). Will I get 400FPS easily? Or will I need to tweak?

seems to be 400-500 whenever i look at it. is there a way of recording fps throughout the entire game?

i dont know why i have it on high to be honest, im sure i would have seen it somewhere or read about it to do it.

upping my settings seems to be a good idea.

is csgo a more cpu or gpu dependant game?

ive got a 4670k overclocked to 4.2 and i recently overclocked my 780ti for laughs.

i dont think 400fps is the holy grail. its a waste i feel, i only have a 60hz monitor so from my understanding anything above 60fps for me is a waste (hope im getting that right)

No, unlike some games (quake 3 engine, cod4 etc) I don't think there are any set fps values that give you any real advantage. I think the pros generally leave it uncapped, but I don't see what advantage 1000 fps would give you over say, 300. Generally 200+ is considered 'healthy', but not in exact multiples of your refresh rate. Greater than your refresh and the 128 tickrate is probably a minimum to aim for.

Nah, I'm pretty sure there are benefits of having it higher (much higher!) than your refresh rate. Don't ask me to explain why though!

I always have mine maxed at 170, even though i get around 300fps at max settings, i only have this as if i don't cap the fps when streaming its unplayable, no idea why, most of the time now i just automatically set it to 170 even when im not streaming.
