CS:GO Discussion

Kills don't mean that much it all depends on how important they are. I've gotten 12 kills in an ESEA game we tied but I still got flamed because I was playing awful.

The russian and yellow most of their frags was exit or just a frag which had 50hp or less... So you're right frags don't matter that much, I don't get too many points as I'm usually the one who covers someone while they're defusing/planting. :p

How much have you all spent in CS:GO if you don't mind me asking?

prob about £50-60 bit silly when I think about it but luckily I don't think to much. I only ever spend about £4 a week so doesn't seem to bad really.

Had mostly crap as well, best skin I have is a AWP Boom and I got that by trading a nvidia game code lol

On another note I'm silver 3 now so pretty much pro :p should I try ESEA :p
Just had my 3rd ace as well so feeling pretty happy at the moment and really enjoying the game

Is it really worth paying for the operations?

I'm really starting to get into CS again recently. Playing every lunch with a bunch of guys from the office.

this particular operation not really. You get two shots at winning a dragonlore and maybe chances are like 10k to 1 or actually a million to one but someone here won 1
[I got about 15 quid back from breakout coin selling drops, cost a fiver ? profit, depends how popular it turns out, vanguard is saturated so keep those cases is my wheeler dealer advice]

Someone on twitch got 1000 subs to join his channel as he was doing a raffle of a new dragonlore, worth about 1k I guess that is. I forget the name, makes one or two hundred thousand a year from it and yesterday showed himself getting a haircut, fascinating lol

However the only money I use in cs is for the coins, it goes back to map makers. I like season and the guy who made cache, etc
Like 5 quid on skins Ive done? I bet and/or won all others I have like that dismay game except i bet so low all i got was bizon skins and junk i dont want; fodder for mlg

wigg opened 867 cases and got no knife, another 100 and he gets battle scarred forest bayonet which is almost worthless :p [this is not bad luck especially, its near the average I think]

I have only brought the last 2 missions and that was only because I sold all my cases and skins as I would rather have the money in steam wallet and get other games then I use the funds in my wallet to buy the missions and then sell on them cases.

I only buy the missions to sell the cases and make money out of it!

I have never opened a case as I don't see the point, been playing cs a long time before any of this came about and that's why I play it, not to pump more money in to the game!

+1

I'm not sure of the point of posting these?

Its like that every game anyways... so yeah. It was more off to show that the points matter more than frags, look at BLUE and then the other 2...

Playing with randoms is not fun, as you usually need to carry... With a team its more relaxed and people can play/know the callouts that's when you actually enjoy the game.

I haven't brought anything in game!

I have brought the last 2 operations but this has been paid for by selling cases and skins on the market so none has come from real money, the game has paid for the operations.

I started playing Counter-Strike back in 2000 when it was released. I absolutely loved CS 1.5 and played it for many years. CS 1.6 was also pretty good and I was very reluctant when Source was released but after playing a bit, I got used to it.
I bought CS:GO at release and it's horrible, at least for me...I don't know why, just feels wrong...I tried getting used to it but can't, feels somehow fake.

I think this is the Counter-Strike of the new generation...I might be too old for it...

I felt exactly the same when I tried GO on launch. I thought it was a terrible game. I left it for a while and gave it another try after hearing about many good patches that fixed it. Now I think the game is fantastic.

The player models/ movement are still very poor compared to source, they are far to 'clunky' and unnatural whereas source is amazing for player movement.

Try GO again, you will get used to it and learn to love it.

All my hours added up together add-up to around 3k just in 1.6, it was really hard to switch. This is not the CS 'we' know any more, its a totally new game... you just have to learn how to play again. I'm still terrible at this game, only DMG ATM. I don't have a team or a group/community which would play CS like back in the day of 1.6...

This game is still buggy as hell...

Depends what you comparing it to. I played cs in 2000 also and I was happy on the beta but it got worse as it progressed for me.
Source was good to start, actually the beta was perfect apart from weird bodies drop from the sky lag ocasionally.
So csgo I rate as ok, they update it much more often and if you are old school you have to try the competetive games before you decide. I also disliked it on the trial, first impression its a cod clone now  didnt buy but last xmas sale I bought and in last 12 months now havent bothered with old cs

1.6 looks very funny to me now, not played in ten years but I still remember it with the ladders on inferno :D I much preferred pre retail, jam packed of noobs now :o csgo = competitive

Never said it wasn't. Merely stated that the game played terribly when it first came out; there's been loads of updates and patches and the plays well now (remaining bugs or not).

I actually preferred it before all the updates, same with the recent updates e.g. when they changed CZ (R.I.P [*]). I'm not sure if its me, but the game feels different than before. I have also noticed that the mouse feels much smoother when the mouse raw input is turned off, I use MarkC mousefix anyway and it works pretty well as I haven't noticed any acceleration so far.

Edit:

BTW is anyone using these commands on startup?
-noforcemaccel -noforcemparms -noforcemspd
and have you made your own cfg?

I'm running stock, I haven't touched the config files...

Wondering if anyone can help. Been starting to play more csgo recently but it feels like I am on an elastic band at times, I duck for cover and then I am back dead where I was, hard to explain. I know config was important on old cs but is there anything that makes a difference in csgo.

Not sure how my old monitor makes a difference as I see in few pages most have 144hz now.

Tried adjusting your rates?

IC3, I use those commands in startup, mainly cos I have done it in all Source games for years, but there is a fair bit of debate recently if it makes any difference since various updates rolled out.

Do you setup your config like you use to do in 1.6-CS:S? I haven't actually changed anything in my cfg, as most of the commands adjust to the server :o
