CSS - I'm 'learning' AWP...

The ones who whine & moan are generally the ones who cant use it for **** and dont like being killed by it all the time. After watching the CGS you tell me that someone like Rattlesnk isnt extremely talented with the awp esp in close combat which its hardest to use.

Simon

ahh, [UU]Iceman - those were the days :) I remember you started on the old G3 :D before moving on to awp. I'll let you have a quess at which [HH] player I was... for sh*ts and giggles.

M4/deagle combo works for me :) can even hold my own against the awpers aswel. The deagle is one of the best guns imo apart from its 7 shot clip :(

A trick of mine is to rebind my primary wep to mouse wheel up, and pistol slot to mouse wheel down. That way every time I fire a shot, I simply flick my finger down and up on the wheel and I'm ready for the next shot. I find that quicker than hitting the Q key.

Another trick is to learn to jump around corners, picking out your target in mid-air and having your crosshair on them for as soon as you land so you can pop your shot off. Sometimes this is the only way to beat another AWPer if they are watching a choke point.

The skill of the AWP comes down to prediction and awareness. Place your crosshair where the player will be when you recognise it's a player to shoot, e.g. doors on aztec, don't aim directly at the doors, aim just to the right, because by the time you've reacted, they'll already by out by a metre or so. After you've got used to this, you can then start trying to get used to aiming directly at the doors to shoot those who creep out and "flick" for those who run. etc. AWP'ing is not easy, it is not some noob cannon, and those who whine only do so because they are completely pants when it's their turn to use one.

It's all about practice mate, AWP'ing in CSS really depends on your style.

Me personally I rely on reactions instead of reflexes so I pre-aim spots. Some of the other AWP'ers I know use flickshots more often.

If you want me to jump into a server with you and give you some tips I happily will.

(I played high level CSS for a number of years)

Don't socialise with this one! He'll run off to CoD4 before you can get on a CSS server.

I can't bunnyhop to save my life in CS. I can do it to some extent in nearly every other game, but it's just beyond me in CS. :(

I've awped in ED, GBGL and the SGL.

I've learned it, and awped for my clan. Its easy to learn but to master its hard! Having 5men rush at you through mid doors is horrible with just a awp, but you will learn how to handle with it over time.

Kill all five of them with one shot, like I did. (in 1.6)

.. and will never ever happen to me again

what does 'Q' do guys?

i remap a lot of my keys

Q and E are buy primary & secondary ammo :p

default q is fast switch to last weapon, normally used by snipers to quickly pull out a pistol when they have missed/clipped their target.

I generally use it for FB's/Grenade when rushing (when I played)

Also Beta 6.1 > *

I used to love de_fang :)
