Curved is here....

This has been winding me up, they may very well be uncomfortable and/or pointless but the concept of a curved handset (not display) has definitely existed very happily before so I'm sure LG and Samsung can get them sold.

I had this

And this

And they were both curved, the 8110 was even known as the banana phone by nickname.

in fact didn't the galaxy nexus have a curved body?

Only 4.2.2, 720p resolution and 244dpi so nothing to be excited about as well as being a Korean release only. The only interesting thing is the self healing back.

Displaymate got some hands on time with the Galaxy round/flexible screen technology. It's a good read for OLED screen nerds :p http://www.displaymate.com/Galaxy_Round_ShootOut_1.htm

without cover glass the OLED display appears to be right on the surface of the screen, which is quite visually striking!

...and it seems the LG G Flex has some flex in the design after all! http://www.engadget.com/2013/11/04/lg-g-flex-video/

Can't wait for 2014 flagships. A 1080p OLED screen without a hardened glass cover will look stunning! Will Apple finally move to OLEDs next year too?

No that was Neo and these were great phones!

the 7110 wasn't in the matrix, that was the 8110, the 7110 had the spring loaded slider but the 8110 came a long time before it and they gave it a spring loaded effect for the film.

I swear every time I hear the 7110 being called the matrix phone it drives me mad, they were doing it on the vergecast the other day and I nearly punched my stereo.. it's been winding me up for over 10 years now lol.

See!!!!
