Seems pretty good. You wont even have to go to the off-licence to buy booze any more if the case is passed in court this week, wednesday i believe.

'The potential savings are huge: 200 cigarettes purchased in Latvia cost only £7.20, a saving of about £43, while several European countries charge no duty on wine.'

Now they just need to do this with PC hardware but from the USA and Japan.

I do not like the idea of tax free booze and fags, the NHS is under strain and needs all the revenue it can get, tax free drugs will be detrimental to the NHS.
Imagine removing a couple of billion of pounds AND an increase in alcohol/smoking related diseases.

Other EU countries benefit from this and this country will be the worse for it. Typically the EU is ruling on our laws.

i wouldnt of thought they will approve of this as it would mean massive tax loss's and another reason prices are so high are to stop people smoking not encourage them to carry on and smoke more!

LOL at the Specialist Fuels on http://www.petroldirect.com.

Plutonium, Antimatter and Crystal Energy.

'Recent advances in particle research have made it possible to create antimatter on a commercial scale for the very first time.

Traditionally suited to deep range space craft, it is actually possible now to fit a compact matter-antimatter annihilation chamber into most larger cars and trucks. Typically, just a few grams of antimatter will be enough to power your car for life.

Our specialists will also arrange an engine conversion for you. Please contact us for a quotation.'

ROFL, I wonder how much they would charge to do my Corsa for me.

Countries like Spain have much cheaper fags and booze and arguably have a health system that puts ours to shame. Taking the money out of the NHS isn't necessary the government needs to deal with the 7 million economically inactive first, a vast number of them are lazy spongers.

"Just enter the desired quantity of the fuel you need, and we'll package it up and send it to you in the post, first class, delivered straight through your letterbox. No hassle. No worries."

The latter sadly won't apply as this ruling will, if passed, only effect purchases within the EU.

Quite an interesting court case this one, like to see what happens :).

So the red is cheaper because its sourced from nearer the UK?
No I think it's cheaper because you can only legally use it in agricultural vehicles, maybe a RON type thing I'm not sure :/
There are ways of colouring red diesel white if you know how though;)

Red diesel is called red diesel because it's got a red dye in, which shows if it's intended for off-road use only - the level of duty on it is much, much lower than road diesel fuel.
