Cyberpunk 2077 Ultra performance

Someone mentioned previously that 'clean' reflections are less computationally expensive that blurred/diffused reflections. I assume because the light goes in less directions. So likely we will be seeing well defined reflections for some time in games.
There are tons of diffused reflections with RT on, moreso than clear ones.

Static shots don't do it justice for sure. CDPR have done an excellent job with the non RT side, but your jaw drops with RT. It does feel like the next generation of graphics.

The ray tracing and HDR was mind blowing, so much atmosphere and dimensions.

Graphics look years ahead of anything else I played on pc.

Tomshardware is looking at the performance of the relase version of Cyberpunk 2077, doesn't look to different to what we saw before at 1080p Ultra:

the min FPS of high end GPUs like the RX 6800 XT and RTX 3080 is noticeably higher. Odly, RTX 3080 got a higher min FPS than the RTX 3090, maybe due to random variation.

The 6900XT is just a 6800XT in this game.

Look like a CPU bottleneck with the 6800XT/3080/3090, what CPU did they use?

Played some last night up until V goes to bed for the first time.

Don't have any fps counter on but the game has been very fluid.

3700X 3070@1440p with settings to the max without the pyscho option, runs very, very well, the RTX so far is good and isn't 'over done' causing performance crushing fps, but, as I said so far.

What I can see though, when you stop moving a slight blur kicks in every time, don't know if its just the game or Dlss.

On the gfx front though, in places it's really good, then really poor.

For example stand in the middle of a street and there is some very poor bill board textures, but you can pan across the st and the same bill board is very sharp.

Are you running native 1440P or DLSS upscaled to 1440P?

Ah, so the clear one is with RT off and the diffuse one is with it on. I think that perhaps says something about the effect if you're left figuring out which is which, although I absolutely take the point that a static image is going to do very little to represent moving in-game experience.

I think we all know how powerful raytracing could be and it's an amazing leap that we're able to do this to any degree in real time and I really look forward to what this is going to be like in 3 or 4 generations time!

I've looked at some gameplay on youtube and I don't think the game looks as amazing as some people are saying. Do lots of lights and neon signs make for amazing graphics these days?

Personally I think Gears 5 or Metro Exodus look great but I guess the GTA fans will lap this up since it looks essentially like an updated GTA/Watchdogs style game.

Ok, yeah i hate Motion Blur.

The game might not be streaming textures properly, i take its installed on an SSD?
Yes installed on an nvme.

They'll maybe patch it up by the time I get a good go at it.

Day one performance is better than I expected, but the gfx aren't as good as I thought they would be either, don't get me wrong it is still a good looking game, but I was expecting more.

It's when you take control that it hits you. I can only describe it as playing within a cutscene where everything is just rendered that bit better. The environment just feels more believable. The gameplay appears to be more up to the player this tiime around with a shorter main campaigne and a great number of side missions that you can chose to do that may alter the main game story. I'll take a sneaky / hacking approach when possible.

The top one is RT on, gregster confirmed this https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/posts/34330313/

A number of RT effects are possible with rasterisation, it is just time consuming for the developers as they need to bake light maps out for these (Could easily take an hour per level/scene chunk). It however is not as accurate. (Example, the bounce lighiting on top right of the screenshot, Neon blue light off the back of a billboard?)

There are some effects that can not be done with rasterisation, you'll be hard pressed to spot them while we are in this transitional stage.

What version of dlss are u using?

I noticed the perfomance ones add big patches of blur that move about in every game I tried.

I only used balanced dlss now it's much cleaner image,

I think a modern game having to rely on DLSS, even with the latest hardware, to get 60+ FPS is a bit poo. Is it raytracings fault? Poor poptimisation? Or are they simply pushing the boundaries on computer graphics?

I'd need to check later, but good info as Ive always thought DLSS is blurry on the whole.
