*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Amazon showing a 28/12/18 release date. Reckon that's just a random guess by them and not at all likely?
Would love for it to be true. It is possible we get it this year. I get the feeling they have done most of it and are mainly in the killing bugs and polishing stage now. They just do not want to give a release date and then have to delay it.

Though my prediction has always been a 2019 release.

Games that were shown earlier this year still have release date 2019, at this point they don't even have demo for public view. Not sooner than Christmas 2019:D

I find if you turn off any motion blur and camera sway when you move, it helps massively. Also don't play at a low frame rates, that slight lag can generate motion sickness.

Yeah I always turn off things like that. I have managed to play a few fps in the past (Bioshock for example) but the majority make me feel nauseous. I mainly play RPG's anyway so missing out on FPS games doesn't usually bother me. I will probably give it a play though and see how I get on.

With regard to Deus Ex. I can see this being the final nail in the coffin for the franchise, which is a huge shame. But from what I've seen and read of Cyberpunk 2077, it's leaps and bounds ahead of anything we have seen, or are ever likely to see from Eidos, Nixxes et al. Ultimately, any future iteration would have to compete against this, or at the very least be compared to it on some level. Which, given the scope and quality of what has been presented so far, I just can't see anyone associated with the DE franchise being able to do

My sentiments exactly! I remarked about this before:

I can't wait for Cyberpunk 2077! I can honestly see it burying the Deus Ex franchise. Square Enix needs to be more ambitious, as the recent games are more akin to Metal Gear Solid than the original Deus Ex.

What has been shown that's "leaps and bounds" ahead of everything else? Did I miss the gameplays? Just curious.

I'm genuinely interested in the game but I don't think we've seen anything concrete yet apart from that weird change in atmosphere in the latest trailer.

I hope it pushes Square Enix to do better with the Deus Ex franchise or to just sell it to someone who knows how to get more out of it.

I lost a lot of love for them when they messed up Mankind Divided and then shelved it. They could have used the same engine and released the sequel much quicker. Now if they ever do start again it will be from scratch in the future which mean 5 years dev cycle again...

I'm basing my assertion upon the information that was leaked following the press conference the other day. Coupled with the fact that CD Projekt have an established history of going above and beyond in their crafting of story rich, dynamic game world's. As much as I liked Deus Ex Mankind Divided, it simply didn't have the depth and scope that was, imo, necessary to fully convey the world in which it was set, nor explore the more intricate story facets that were established in some of the previous games.

Of course I might be totally wrong, and Cyberpunk 2077 might be a shallow, souless mess. But as a seasoned gamer, even taking into account the limited info we have, I just can't see that being the case.

Fair enough. I think Mankind Divided could've been a lot better myself.

I'll reserve my judgement till I see something more concrete about Cyberpunk. I won't base my hype on W3 alone as the games are completely different and even though I really liked W3 overall (especially the expansions), it didn't look like in earlier gameplays and had a lot more flaws than people were willing to admit, even in the story department. Having said that, Cyberpunk will probably be at least good.

Can't say I like AJ, but that's a good interview. Roll on 2020....
I like some of his reviews. I did enjoy the Mankind Divided one. Made me laugh a lot. The part about finding the guys kill switch in a box under random table was too funny. As it was so true, why would his kill switch be there? Made no sense what so ever. Super lazy of the developers!
