*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

It's the same with traffic too.
The cars just sit hopelessly waiting.
The only movement will be when the front cars get deleted and the cars behind move up towards the obstruction.

The game is like a 50/50 split. On one side it is literally amazing but on the other you are left saying WTF was that.
There is still enough good to keep playing though.

It's pretty life like, some people are like this in real life. :D

Finished the first run through story mission. Brilliant. I
If you want to shoot the tyres then yes :D
I'm pretty sure someone could do a video comparing all the things in Cyberpunk to GTA V which are better.
GTA V is a great game but Cyberpunk is a different type of game. It's more like a Deus Ex, System shock, GTA V hyrid. Graphics wise, its years ahead of GTA V... it should be, it is years ahead!

GTA V, Cyberpunk night screenshots
For me it's the huge variance in colour and lighting that brings Cyberpunk to life

it will be interesting to see what the enhancements will be like for GTA V when it releases next year. I think it will be textures, lighting and HDR on top of the “4K support” for consoles. So it might get a bit quite a visual facelift. As you say it is 7 year old.....

So I crafted comrades hammer which originally said it was 300dps but when crafted it was 624 dps? I crafted the epic version, I have the plans for the legendary version but it has lower dps than epic? Also at 9 seconds the epic version says its 388 dps then at 11 seconds when I hover over it again its 272? how the hell do gun stats and crafting work? they seem to change every few seconds

Trying to find a Legendary Craft Plan for the D5 Sidewinder (Smart rifle) - I can buy one in the Badlands ($150k) but crafting one is cheaper :D

I've clocked 27hrs 36m without a single crash. WTF?

80+hrs now on a gaming laptop - no crashes and only 2 mission restarts req'd for "glitches" which broke the mission - usually me doing something out of the games expected/designed order i.e. killing a boss through a wall or 3 with a power Sniper & ping before I'm supposed to or double jumping into areas I'm not "allowed" to yet etc.

I was getting my rig ready and prepped for playing Cyberpunk during the holidays.

Ive never seen such divided opinion on this game.

This just popped up on my youtube page:

Is a lot of this true? If so, it does seem a little "lazy" by the developers?

For a 49.99 game... well, you know...

I just loaded GTA5 just to test out on my new rig and Im amazed how well it looks 7 years on.

those 2 videos put cyberpunk to shame.

Remove ray tracing and cyberpunk lacks basic details that have been in games for 20 odd years.
The Lod distances are pathetic unless you are short sighted or smudge the backgrounds

The most wrong thing I have read all week! I was playing with RTX on but now play RTX off and am wowed each play still. As buggy as many areas of the game are, this game does without RTX what others can only manage with it.

With distances that are relevant to the moment, LOD is fine as well. Aside form the bugs mentioned I have no problems with the graphics quality on any setting and I'm the first to desire graphical fidelity and sound in most cases as far as modern AAA games go.

by the way I only mention ray tracing as it's the only modern part of the game.

You won't convince me same as I won't convince you. I have never played a game in the last 10 years where the details diminish so rapid at short distances.

the post to right in this screenshot of yours is already at reduced lod. The blur from photo mode covers the rest of them.

Game feels more laggy after the patch, guessing it's the removal of SMT on 5800x. I'm back to only every other core doing work.

They removed AVX and some other instruction sets from the game to fix some crashes. I would assume this would have a negative affect on performance?

Didn't seem like they were making heavy use of AVX - it was only crashing under certain circumstances without AVX support so probably not a general slowdown from the removal of it.

The relatively short distances aren't related to ray tracing - it is a mixture of resource requirements* and I believe to accommodate some aspects of screen space effects which need some constraints to keep them from looking naff.

* In a game like this if you double the rendering distance you increase the resource requirements by more than double - potentially even squared.

I never said it was :D. I said if you remove it the game is no better graphically than a lot of older games. I agree it was probably a balance but I just think it reduced a little too far in my opinion.
The multi-layered approach could still work but the first step change is too close to the camera FPS view.

Ray tracing use in the game is pretty meh - nowhere really uses the strengths of it. At best it hides some of the inadequacies of screen space effects at a big performance impact without really doing anything better than where screen space effects are working.

Even shadows as well as other features make heavy use of imposters rather than actually what is visually in the scene :(

EDIT: Problem is to do RT justice in the game would mean having to support more than one version with the complexities of it.

standard screen space reflections in the game are quite grainy though unless set at psycho or off(Not sure if this is AMD only problem).
My 3070fe hopefully gets delivered next week so I can mess around with the settings.

SSR very mixed bag on my 3070FE - on some stuff look grainy on other stuff looks about 70% resolution but not grainy, etc. work quite well on medium distance objects but closer up easy to see the limits of them.
