*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Yeh course there will be normal little fixes, that goes without saying, but the big problems will not be fixed any time soon, well thats what i got from the released video, there main concern is sorting out the console versions.

Understandable in a way whilst not as bad as No Mans Sky publicity wise its hit the national news so I can see why they want to rectify the console version ASAP and pour resource into it. If it was a PC exclusive that say wouldnt run on AMD cards I bet it wouldnt even hit Metro newspaper ! :)

Did some testing with the endings, there's definitely something wrong with them. The Johnny and Rogue one for example.
Silverhand references a promise that V supposedly made earlier in the game, regarding him being able to have V's body should anything happen to him. I remember responding negatively to this at the time, and JS coming across as supportive. But.....when actually deciding to live out the few remaining months you have with your love interest (Panam in my case), he goes chicken oriental and starts attacking you.
To anyone on the cusp of finishing the game, my advice is don't. See if the upcoming patch sorts things out.

The line of posts was this, though:

So I think it was about substantial fixes, big fixes, but made unclear by some posters replying without quoting.

I think there will soon be some bugfixes but not any big fixes. Not on PC. They might be able to pull out a big fix for PS4 and Xbone, as that's their main focus, but that at most.

sorry for any confusion i need to remember to use the quote button ! :)

When people talk about fixes, do you mean bug fixes?

Or addressing the appalling AI and NPC interactions etc as well?

That's the key question.

The apology video from CDPR said nothing about the gaping chasm between what they claimed to be selling and what they actually sold. Nothing at all about the laughably crude pseudo-AI. Nothing at all about the extremely limited NPC interactions. Nothing at all about the extreme scarcity of meaningful choices. Nothing at all about the extremely bad UI. Nothing at all about the crudely cut content and cobbled-together slop filling its place. In other words, nothing at all about the key issues. Nothing at all about the game not really being very close to being finished.

Instead, it was almost entirely about the game not really working at all on PS4 and Xbone. It explicitly said that the PC version is very highly rated and it didn't mention the current console versions at all.

So the only things CDPR have publically said they'll fix are performance issues on PS4 and Xbone and (as a secondary consideration) the usual post-release bugfixing that's the norm for any game nowadays.

It's possible that CDPR are planning to fix the fundamental problems on all platforms, to try to make the game into the one they falsely claimed to be selling. It's possible that they're just not mentioning that because for legal reasons they don't want to in any way admit that they mis-sold the game. That's possible. But all we know about what they're planning is improving performance on PS4 and Xbone and the normal bug-fixing. The T-posing and some scripting issues with quests. The "action blocked" bug that sometimes makes it impossible to change equipment and suchlike. That sort of thing.

Had this last night - crafted higher version of the Overwatch - after I did it I couldn't equip it, couldn't equip any other weapon either could remove but not equip. Save and reload didn't fix it, fast travel, etc. didn't fix it. In the end I did Sweet Dreams and that sorted it - but can't do that again if it happens again - will have to try one of the other tricks.

Triggering a cutscene is something that is often successful in fixing bugs (which is why doing Sweet Dreams fixed the problem for you - it contains a cutscene). A reliably repeatable way to trigger a cutscene is to hire a prostitute. It costs you 100 eddies, but that should be a trivial amount at any stage of the game.

Save and reload. Save, quit, reload. Trigger a cutscene. The big three of DIY Cyberpunk 2077 temporary bug fixing. Sort of like antibiotics :)

I did Sweet Dreams last night, despite it being so obviously a trap. It was the last side mission I hadn't done, apart from a couple I've refused for ethical reasons(*). It was oddly enjoyable for the sudden temporary drop from greatly outclassing enemies to being greatly outclassed by them. There was a bug in that too - retrieving my equipment didn't complete the "retrieve your equipment" quest objective, so I spent a little while checking to see if I was missing anything. I wasn't. Just another bug.

I had an odd bug last night. The pop-up information window for a food item was displayed onscreen all the time. I had to save, quit and reload to fix that one.

Yeah apparently the objectives have to be highlighted in the right order when you do them or it doesn't complete them properly - I had the same thing.

Was obviously a trap but I amused myself after going back to the guy finding creative ways to off him - certain actions when you have the 2 dialogue options up chooses a 3rd way instead.

I mean if you were them would you bother really fixing the game and adding all the missing features? The whole community already fell over themselves to pre-order the game and then coddle the **** out of them over the PC version, why on earth would they bother to go to much expense when they could instead just do damage control and then fart out a reveal for CP2078 and have you all blindly pre-order it 5 years in advance and go to bat for them all over again?

I'm already bored of the game, the final straw was the AI, so I punched some randomer in this block of flats and went outside and everyone was cowering all around me, like if I wielded Thor's hammer and everyone from miles around heard and felt my presence, and I was a god, for that moment, and for that moment as I looked around me, in the cold dark outside, with everyone in shorts and shirts, the ray traced light bouncing off the puddles, from the buildings across the river, fully obscured by fog, whilst a few cars randomly bounce into the air besides me.

Wrong answer - you need to force yourself through at least 100hrs so you can say you really enjoyed it and definitely got your money's worth and therefore are not a fool who got conned. You need to say you have no idea what people are talking about because you've hardly had or seen any problems and are a smart guy who wouldn't waste your money and time on a product people could have told you would be a letdown from the start :p

Game needed another year IMO.

I did complete it and I do have nearly every achievement (bar 2) but it's pretty hollow experience.

Maybe the devs can do their magic and release a patch that is so broad it actually changes the game meaningfully - They did this with The Witcher 2 when they released the 'Enhanced Edition' 11 months after the game launched.

I didn't pre-order it. I have pre-ordered 2 games in the 40 years I've been gaming. I didn't even know Cyberpunk 2077 was being released until after it was and I happened to see it on GOG when I was browsing. I missed the whole hype train because I'm not looking to be a passenger on that particular type of train. I look at what games are available when I decide to buy a game.

Care to have another try? I think you had a point in there somewhere.

A fair assessment. The game is seriously flawed and your post is a poetic example of some of those flaws.

There are some good stories, though. If the development had been done right, it would have been a great game. It looks to me like the development wasn't done by a team or even by an organisation. It looks to me like it was done by a disorganised bunch of different teams and individuals, with not much linking them together and not much communication between the seperate teams. Then pieces were cut out and the remaining pieces hastily cobbled together into something mostly functional when a release date was announced for well before the game would have staggered a meandering route to the finish line, if it ever found it.
