*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Found Skippy the other day and thought it was brilliant. If anyone hasn't stumbled upon it yet I highly recommend googling the quest and checking it out.

Bum bum de dum, bum bum de dum. :)

I returned Skippy to its rightful owner. It seemed like the right thing to do, but I did miss it a bit. Clippy's dystopian gun cousin, made by an NPC who was off their head on something. It's perfect for Cyberpunk.

Nah, that can't be right. It shows QA existing and it obviously didn't.

Yeah given that you can't craft multiples of the same component (try making a few bits towards higher end gear LOL) and that almost all the clothing mods do NOT work yeah. The few mods that do work you can only apply one and if you apply two then remove one it will remove the bonus even though you have one still equipped. (Lets not even talk about me-thrill).

I've also found a few open ended quests only ever complete if you idle in game for 5-10 minutes typing a forum post (that bit optional) - no amount of actively playing will they complete but if you stand still and don't do anything the contact will phone you and sign off on the quest.

There has blatantly been no QA or beta testing at all and the developers have been doing any testing it has had and been playing with their favourite setups in their favourite style and completely forgot to test the game from a new player perspective.

I get the feeling they were about 60% done on the hyped vision of the game in terms of tools, engine implementation and content before having to use what they had working to try and create some kind of game and without rowing back massively on the as released game (which IMO will never happen) they will never develop this game into what it was intended to be all that is coming now is bug fixes and maybe a few extra missions and items via "DLC" and probably even stuff like crafting will never be developed into a more feature complete version of what is there now.

Yeah I get the same feeling. I knew nothing before buying the game so, now I've read more into what the game "should" have been been vs what we did get, I can't see anyway that the game can be updated into the original vision even with multiple DLC's etc as adding back in any of the original designs would be too much of a change to the core of the game. Instead whatever sequel comes after CP2077 will probably have it instead.

When's the next patch due?

Started another play through as corpo but really trying to hold of until they fix most of the issues and hopefully improve perf. further.

Same im holding back until more content is dropped, probs give it 6 months to mature before my 2nd playthrough. My first playthrough was pretty magical though i have to admit, i barely had any bugs and nothing glitched or was game breaking but i do feel theres so much more to be had from it.

I tried the old GTA style of play with cyberpunk, you know just running around shootin and mowing down civilians for fun (Lol) but it just doesn't work... cops spawn behind you and at random instead of pulling up in cars etc. Not to mention the higher level stars are impossible to beat where they pretty much 3-4 shot you. If they fixed this alone i would play it casually just to cause some mayhem for fun.

1 glitch/bug i still get its when driving car/ riding a bike.
Tends to be when easing off the throttle at speed cruising through the city, my character does a star pose on the top of the vehicle flickering for 4-5 seconds.

Always loses clothes on the body but keep headgear on and boots.

Yeah i had this as well but it seems to have gone away since the patch.

I reinstalled GTAV last night with the intention of having a laugh with GTA Online with a few mates. Played some of the story mode just to get reacquainted with the control scheme. Man Rockstar are just in a different league when it comes to an interactive world. I love Cyberpunk but its just not close.

Finished the game now, quite enjoyed it to be honest.
I did get get lucky early in the game and got an overpowered SMG from the monk dude which pretty much carried me through the rest of the game.
There's a lot of work to be done though with balance and other stuff, after a few big patches and some 3rd party mods it could become something quite special, but as others have said, it's best played as a shooter rather than an RPG

It's a shame that a lot of the smaller things probably aren't going to be improved as they will be focussing on bug fixes. A few I can think of-

You can't see what gear looks like before you buy it. Needs a preview feature
Many UI improvements like the option to remove all the icons from the map(I know you can toggle but it resets each time). TW3 had this option.
If they didn't have all this bugfixing to do I imagine there is a chance they might have added some kind of vehicle customization as tbh it does kind of feel a bit weird you can't do it at all.
The Journal in it's current state is rubbish. Read some of the descriptions, they don't tell you anything about what you are doing half the time!
I'm not sure the cops can be fixed. Such a shame.

Also kind of related. The mods I want to see most-
Unlevel all gear and remove restrictions. Hate this system as it is. What do you mean I don't have enough street cred to wear this hat or buy these shoes? What kind of world is this?!
Improving the cops as I'm not sure CDPR will do it. I would like basically the system from GTA as it is sound, but a cool feature would be you're wanted level kind of 'soft' stays with you when it gets to level 3 for example and you have to hack somewhere to bring it down again in a kind of AC2 style where you had to pull down posters and bribe people etc.

I think I maxed out my street cred super quick as all I was doing is side missions, so it never bothered me. But I can see why it can be annoying for some if all you want to do is main mission.

Albeit I only played on normal difficulty but the last mission was LOL easy with my character progression - which makes it doubly annoying that you can't have an effect on certain outcomes as my character could take on the entire mission NPCs in one go including boss(es), etc. and not even lose health :(

Think it has been mentioned a few times but for anyone starting the game - basically most clothing mods don't work or will only work the first time you put them on an item and if you subsequently apply an upgraded version, etc. it just removes the effect and does nothing. Others like critical hit chance and damage only one such mod applies and if you put two on then remove one you will lose the bonus even of the one still attached. Movement speed mods seem incredibly buggy and whether it updates in the stats or not doesn't mean it is working or not in game and largely doesn't work.

Armadillo armour mods do stack but the actual level applied can get out of sync with what you have attached.

Several of the mods don't actually have any coding behind their supposed features whatsoever and are pretty much just placeholders beyond the description text (this also applies to some other non-clothing mods).

Mine did (the "Don't Fear The Reaper" ending). Maybe he lost a bit of health. He wasn't maxed out at the time, since he wasn't using the most powerful SMG and hadn't maxed his assault weapons skill. But the last mission was still a very simple solo stroll. Adam Crusher took about 30 seconds of evasion and shooting rather than just shooting. Oh, wait...he did fail the first time because one of the guards one-shot him from full health. I've no idea what with, since he had ~5200 armour and on the second attempt he took so little damage I didn't even need to use health inhalers. Maybe the NPCs have bugged weapons :)

But despite complete success I wasn't allowed to choose the ending I wanted - to leave NC with the Aldeceros. The game only allows you to do that if you risk all the Aldeceros (including your lover) for no reason and get at least two of them killed. Which you can't prevent because that's scripted too. Player choice? Nah! What players really want is extended cutscenes with a wafer thin veneer of fake choices in them in order to get the worst of both worlds. Cutscenes with "interactions" where the player can choose from 1 of 1 options. Cutscenes with "interactions" where the player can choose 1 of several options but all bar 1 only results in a line of dialogue before the player has to choose the 1 option they're allowed. Cutscenes with "interactions" where your only allowed choice is whether to get dressed before or after having a shower. And no, that's not a joke or hyperbole. It's from the ending you get if you complete the last mission solo while in a relationship with Panam. Seriously. I am not joking.

The game simply wasn't finished and it shows in so many ways.

Maybe he lost a bit of health. He wasn't maxed out at the time

I maxed out health regeneration fairly early on - so while they were doing damage it was instantly healed to max health again so looked like they weren't doing damage. I think Smasher was knocking some chunks out of it but he died so quickly it wasn't significant.

My inventory was bugged out at that point, you also get the same scene in different endings, and I couldn't actually dress anyway not that it made any difference to what happened next.

I took the easy route with mods, given how defective they are:

Clothing: All mod slots filled with Armadillo and replaced only with better Armadillo as I increased my character level, crafting level and crafting perks. At max, I was getting 240 armour per armadillo mod. The values stated on the modded item of clothing are nonsense (IIRC, my coat was stated as having over 15,000 armour bonus), but the overall armour rating for your character increases correctly. Usually. Sometimes that bugs out too. No surprises there.

Guns: If using smart guns, all mod slots filled with Crunch. If not using smart guns, one mod slot filled with Countermass and all the others filled with Crunch.

Melee weapons: I didn't bother with mods. There didn't seem to be any need to do so and I had no idea whether or not any of the melee weapon mods would work.

I forgot to do that, so I'm only regenerating outside combat and only to something like 70% of max. Maybe I'll load the game again to put perks points into regen while I remember.

The first attempt at a mod that adds some content is out. Very simple, very much an early alpha version. Hopefully more to come:

TBH I wouldn't really bother with health regeneration if I played it again though it did make the game kind of hands off in that respect - you have an almost unlimited supply of health boosters if things do get tough and a couple of cyber mods allow you to emergency slow time and boost health when it gets low. And none of that saves you from the random flatlines when the game glitches or certain exploding objects which are a 1 hit kill at any level.

You only get low percent regen in combat as well so have to have a high amount of health to have that level of regen by which point NPCs would take forever to kill you anyhow - the whole game is a mess.
