*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

So much for the "they fixed the police" then

I only interacted with police a few times. Did not really see much difference apart from level 5 maxtecs which were fun to slaughter with my Katana. After killing a bunch of them I got bored and run away as they kept coming.

Hopefully cops will be better in the sequel. Not that they bothered me much even on release. That was the least of my issues due to high expectations and they hype.

So Starfield's not only a better RPG than Cyberpunk, it's also got a better police system? :p

Lol. Starfield's police was **** too
Well, you can fight them, flee or you can surrender to them and get pinched - you can try and sneak contraband past them and you have several missions where you're either working directly with them or against them. There's bounties you can pay off (or ignore) and there's also a lengthy mission chain that's a consequence of getting nicked. All-in-all I'd say Starfield does a much better job with its cops than Cyberpunk does ;)

(I did enjoy the cyber-pycho missions in CP2077 but the police are really just bystanders in those - you do those for Regina).

I was slightly miffed when I thought I was being really clever and managed to get some punks hoodlums to shoot at me as I expertly jumped up on a rooftop above some cops. They shot the cops and kicked of a fight,. After they'd been dealt with the cops then attacked me despite me not harming anyone. .... /shrug

Also my 3rd playthrough, i've finally saved Barry.

So F'ing satisfying!
I didn't even realise you couldn't save Barry until this playthrough. I was too late :(

I actually don't even remember who this Barry you guys speak of is. Thats how unmemorable the story was imo. I remember maybe 3-4 characters

Not sure if mentioned but the latest HD Reworked v2 mod has dropped recently...

Installed and using this now, its gone from 11gb Vram usage to 12.6gb which is in line with what the mod states.

Anyone else get the bug where if you go into the menu and back out again the game will sometimes become super choppy with frame times spiking up and down like crazy and it's completely unplayable. GPU use drops to about 80% when this happens too. If leave for a while (a minute or so) it will sometimes restore to normal. If not then reloading a save fixes it. Very very odd bug and only seems to have happened since the 2.0 update.

On further testing, it only happens in specific locations, and usually when indoors. V strange.

I've seen other forum users around the web posting a similar issue, just wondering if anyone on here has seen it and has found a fix?

I think it has a very minor memory leak as well, after several hours, I drop about 25% in performance over time. Maybe even 3 years isn't enough to fix this pile...

I'm continuing on through my current playthrough, just got past the title screen which I have only done once and that was the night it was released. So far, the combat is the only thing that feels properly reworked. Someone said earlier that it doesn't feel like an RPG, I kind of agree. This is an FPS adventure with side activities and RPG elements tacked on.

Tried out Path Tracing and it looks great and I could still get around 60fps (3080,5800x3d) on high settings, dlss performance. Unfortunately if I go anywhere populated it drops down to the 30s and is quite horrible to play. Had to turn it off :(

Really enjoying this full play through, not played since 1.0 and this time I've added a load of mods for QoL and graphics.

Amazed if anyone saved barry without cheese or a guide.

I did it during my first play through by complete accident without knowing what I'd actually done as I was having a general look around the remembrance bits without specifically looking for "Andrew's" memoriam and this complete flummoxed me on my 2nd and 3rd run throughs when I couldn't save Barry no matter what options I chose despite knowing I'd picked the same options on the first go and so I thought I found a bug.

At that point I looked it up to see if anyone else had this "bug", found in a guide what had happened and realised what I'd done the first time had caused me to fluke it.
