.@PrettyBadTweets Worry not. When thinking CP2077, think nothing less than TW3 — huge single player, open world, story-driven RPG. No hidden catch, you get what you pay for — no ********, just honest gaming like with Wild Hunt. We leave greed to others.

But...

Cyberpunk 2077 To Have "Online Elements," According To CD Projekt Red.

“Online is necessary, or very recommended if you wish to achieve a long-term success. At some point, we have mentioned that there will be a certain online element related to Cyberpunk.”

So, the online thing is nothing to do with gwent, it's Cyberpunk2077. In a single player game?:eek:

"This of course gives the rumours about Cyberpunk including a "Social Hub..."

Ye gads, not some card game built into it I hope!!

"...more validity, but with what has been described of the title so far (as little as that is), we can't imagine them flipping the script so much so that it becomes a multiplayer-focused experience. According to previous reports, the Social Hub will be meant as a means to connect the single-player experience with an undisclosed multiplayer mode, though CD Prokect Red has said nothing to support that claim at the time of circulation. Now, however, they do at least acknowledge the value of a well-done multiplayer experience:

“Multiplayer is strategically important, playing online is strategically important, because we want to have a commercial leg for service type games, games which generate stable income, period to period, which are built. Of course, every game ends after a number of years, some service type games function even after 10 years, but outside our main source of income, meaning big names, it’s building a stable source of income. And in the future, we can imagine a lot of connections between big games and service type games – We have to acknowledge it, it is obvious.”

I'm getting somewhat dubious about all of this now

It's CDPR, I'd be shocked if they were to jump on the pay to win/loot box/full price gets you 50% of the game bandwagon. They know they've built up a huge reputation for being a developer who cares for the gamers.

If they did indeed follow suite of the likes of EA, Ubi etc, their following would drop them in a heart beat and they'll know it.

I know I would.

I have faith still. Even though i love CDPR, i don't pre order so there is no reason to jump to conclusions until we have solid information. For now i'll wait quietly and hopefully. Not all online games are bad, not all micro transactions are bad. I trust that whatever they do will be well considered as it has been in the past. I really wish they'd tell us some more!

It's not rocket science. Cyberpunk will be primarily singleplayer storydriven game like witcher 3 with no microtransactions and no lootboxes, and will probably feature some online aspect, for example voluntary co-op for some missions.

Gwent is the project for long term monetization because it is a free to play collectible card game.

This is starting to look like it will come out in 2019/20. It is probably the game I am most interested in playing at this moment, close to Star Citizen.
