*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Thanks for your very helpful response. I think you’ve misunderstood me. I wasn’t referring to this game in particular but the Cyberpunk 2020 setting in general. And yes, there is a virtual net which “Netrunners” live in. So I fully expect to see that implemented in Cyberpunk 2077.

I don't follow, why would you fully expect that to be implemented? How can you expect anything from a game that hasn't even been showcased yet? Let alone barely teased... I guess you could 'hope' that they've taken some of the ideas of the 1988 game Cyberpunk 2020, but it would be a long shot to think it's a direct sequel (going off that CDPR's is 2077 is dated after 2020).

Even then, 2 entirely different studios with vastly different portfolios. So to 'expect' something from this is daft at the very best.

No one really knows anything about Cyberpunk 2077 at this point, other than the fact that it is inspired by the board game Cyberpunk 2020. Whether or not it will incorporate elements of the board game into its design, beyond the obvious fact that it is cyberpunk in theme, no one knows. It's all complete speculation at this point.

Not doubting you, but have you got a link to a source that says this? I would like to read more about it.

Not at all what I was expecting to be honest. My excitement for this game has dropped quite a bit as a result. But I am still really looking forward to it I suppose.

Wish they stuck with something more dark. What is with the GTA looking crap?

Eurogamer's analysis of the trailer. Looking at the map of Night City, I wonder if every one of those metro stations is a location you can get out at and explore. Would be amazing if that happened.

After that trailer, its gone from a 'take my money now '10' on the sizzle meter of excitement to a 'Very interested but I need to be convinced '7'.

For me I would say from a 10 to an 8. Still will buy it day 1, but not as good as I was expecting.

The E3 trailer is a stark contrast from the original teaser, and even William Gibson has remarked about it, so it's not just conjecture.
People are naturally defensive, but the reality is no one is infallible, not even CDProjekt Red!
I desperately want the game to succeed, but the trailer was underwhelming for myself and many others, and our opinions aren't entirely unfounded!

They can't be doing too much wrong as they are working closely with the guy who created Cyberpunk so if CDPR weren't adhering to his vision, surely he'd be correcting them? It must look as Mike Pondsmith wants it to?
