That recommended hardware lineup... What are they aiming at? 1080p medium settings at 30fps? A 1060?

Context!

Please note that the game is both graphics- and processor-intensive, so make sure these components meet or exceed the minimum requirements. Also note that the minimum is created with Low settings and 1080p gaming in mind and Recommended with High and 1080p.

We hear you and we will try to publish configs aimed at 4K, RTX, etc., closer to the release. Stay tuned!

So given that info, a 2070S OC with my ancient 6700K 4.4 should be more than enough for 1440P high settings... And given we have DLSS 2.0... maybe even max settings

Not everyone can afford a monster pc with £500+ graphics cards and all the latest kit so I am fine with the reasonable specs. It's only the recommended spec anyway so don't draw too much from that until we know what it can handle.

I do believe in previous casts/interviews CDPR stated that they were aiming for a 60fps experience for PC. I can't imagine recommended being stated as above and hitting below 60. They already know what's at stake if they get such a simple thing wrong.

I suppose 60 FPS has become the lower bound of acceptable FPS since the next gen consoles are claiming 120 FPS. I remember a time when 30 FPS on a console passed as acceptable.

i think it should be well optimised
like Doom (i hope)

If those specs are that accurate, do u think ill be ok on High settings @ 144 fps ? (1080p)

Yes hopefully the extra delay time will be worth it, and it will have a smoothish release, id say your definetely better having a PC above the reccomended specs, Hope i can get mostly high or very high settings, surely Dlss, ray tracing and all those fancy effects will test it out

So torn on whether to jump straight in to this game at launch or wait 6mths or so for the inevitable plethora of post launch patches that will be needed to get it to the state it should have been at launch, TBH.

Who knows, the 3080 20GB cards may have launched by then, as well :)

I didn't play Witcher 3 until that had been well & truly fixed, either.

I will play on launch and then again after complete it, then probably again in 6 months, then again once expansions come out. So I get all the experiences :p

I can't remember being as hyped for a game as I am Cyberpunk ... I watched those new videos they put out yesterday about the gangs and stuff and while they're fairly stereotypical I was impressed by how many they'd included and just how rad the world looks ... I'll have to hold off playing till I've put a proper system together, probably some months from now when Zen 3 is out and the fervour around the 3000 series has died down a bit...

But I am aware of how terrible hype is and how difficult that makes for things to live up to expectations, it'll be really rough if the game is great but not that kind of best game ever vibe to it as I imagine folks will turn pretty hard considering how feverishly some people are anticipating it.
