Cyberpunk 2077

I've considered getting this until I can get a PS5 but I can't help but think with the hype that has surrounded it could be anti-climactic.

I hope it is good but the hype train reminds me of No Man's Sky where people had put so much of their own wants on to the game it could never live up to their expectations.

I think it'll live up to expectations, I also think it'll be riddled with bugs for at least a couple of months as well as some odd UI decisions that get patched up. I'm planning to finish up AC:Valhalla and a couple of Game Pass titles first (I may also crumble like a soggy digestive biscuit and play it day 1).

same here. Trying for ACV completion before CP is out.

Any idea based on earlier Xbox titles whether console owners can preload this before receiving the physical disk in the post? Given the disk only contains the license these days I dont see why it shouldn't be possible.

You can preload through the Xbox phone app.

how does this work? Do you just search the game and then click on it? Because on my app every time I try it the app just gives me an error saying “Oops looks likes you’re stranded “.

Yep, just search, make sure you're searching under games, then select the version for Console. The word console will be listed on the item. Select it and you'll have an option to download to console.

Have you set up your console to be available in the app?

So, there's a patch right now that's about 43GB, and CDPR have confirmed that that's not even the day one patch. So basically whatever version people are playing right now was probably built and put onto the release discs a while back, given that there are two patches due on release, one of which is almost 50GB. They've probably fixed loads of stuff!

Cancelled my pre order online I don't trust royal mail round my was to deliver on the release day. Gonna pick up from super market when they open 6am hopefully they have them on the shelves.

I think I'll wait for the next gen version to properly enjoy it, it sounds like this has been rushed to market as things stand. I was surprised there wasn't already a next gen version to begin with.

What makes you think it's been rushed to market after all the delays it's had, disregarding the next gen version, as the game was in development for the last gen consoles.

Reports of a 50GB day one patch, it sounds like whatever is on the disc is beta code and they're scrambling to fix everything ready for release. Assassins Creed and a few others were also last gen games and they still managed to make an enhanced next gen version.

Yeah I mean thats one big patch if true, 59gb on the xbox currently from preloading does seem very small for a game of this scale.
