Cyberpunk 2077

Customer satisfaction is directly related to expectation, and not related to the quality of the product.
To elaborate why I say that; You can be satisfied with a Maccas meal, yet, you can be dissatisfied with a Michelin star restaurant's meal.

It does not mean the Maccas is better than the Michelin star restaurant's food, it's just that your expectations were set at a certain level for each.

For all the hype and 8 years' development, and experience with playing the Witcher 3 recently on my XSX, my expectations were much higher than it probably should have been, and hence my grumpiness with the game's visuals.

Y'all played yourselves...

Disappointing showing.

This next gen patch is going to take forever if they spend time fixing what is there first (which they should)

See you in 2022 Cyberpunk.

Can't help but think that this would have gone a lot better if they ditched the last gen consoles and only released it for PC, PS5 and Series X.

It obviously struggles on the old hardware of last gens consoles, and the new consoles have a lot more in common with a modern PC, and are in fact more powerful than what most people are running PC wise anyway. I have no doubt that with more focus, they could have got this running superbly on ps5/series X.

I guess this may have meant more delays, but likely would have resulted in a truly next gen offering/game without ancient hardware dragging it down.

True but I think we all know why... 8 million preorders.

From a financial stand point that would make no sense at all. CDPR just can't ignore the millions of sales they'll get from last gen. From a developer perspective it would make sense.

It looks like they got caught out by the new consoles in the middle of their extended development and havent handled the situation very well.

Guess that's a pitfall of a game that's taken 8 years or something to get to this point.

Most of them have to be PS4 and Xbox One right? I'd love to see a mass surge of refunds. Its the only way they'd learn.

I think 60% ish was PC, they did release a graphic a couple of days ago, which I thought was surprising and expected more for console.

Not easy to get a refund digitally (looking at you Sony) and impossible if you're opened the physical game, best you can do it second hand market.

I agree, financially it would not have been as good. But it would appear that what they have released for last gen consoles isn't finished/runs terribly anyway. It must have been obvious to them that it was not finished considering the amount of obvious bugs, but they still released it anyway.

Doesn't matter though. I guess they got their pre-order money....

My saves are gone seems they were even wiped in cloud storage as syncing does nothing. Bit gutted but good excuse to shelf and await some fixes.

A few hundred cancellations won’t do much need a few hundred thousand and they might take note.....

Not to deceive and **** on there customer base would be my wild guess.

What should've they done then? There were reports of rife crunch culture there, can't imagine it will have done the staff at CDPR any favours to delay it any further.

It seems like an unfortunate position all round.

This is why you don't pre-order if you can't keep a lid on your hype.

You don't buy a car based on the marketing. Or at least, you shouldn't.

Ditch the last gen consoles? What have they been working on/with for the last 8 years?
There is no reason why the game couldn't look and play great like most other last gen games do. Obviously PS5/SeriesX/PC will look better.

Ancient hardware? The new consoles are only out and a lot of people don't have them. You are on another planet.

If this game was called watchdogs it would be slated!

I'm not on another planet. Its obvious that even after 8 years, they haven't been able to get it running well on the old consoles. The graphics and performance on the base PS4 look atrocious.

I don't know why that is, because it honestly doesn't even look that great compared with other releases. Who knows, maybe they simply don't have the development talent that other studios have, or they sacked all their good coders and splurged all their money on Keanu Reeves instead :p.

The last gen consoles will be ditched sooner or later, just like always. CDPR could have been one of the first developers to make that decision, concentrated on the PC release, and then released a PS5 and Series X version next year.
