Can someone confirm something for me.

If I buy cyberpunk one the ps4 then put the disk in the ps5 it will be updated to work on the ps5.

Is this then the same game as buying the ps5 version????

Afaik it will work, but it won’t be the PS5 version. They’ll release a PS5 specific version later but if you buy it on PS4 then CDPR have confirmed you’ll get the PS5 version free when it’s released.

Wow, That’s impressive. Would that be for both physical and digital releases?

Thats an amazing thing to do considering the amount of money they know they could make just releasing a next gen version 6 months later and charging full price. People would still pay.

I take it most other company’s are not doing the same thing.

Do we know roughly when the next gen version will be out?

I don’t want to wait for this game it’s number one on my most wanted list but I would rather play the best version if the wait isn’t too long.

Nothing official from CDPR so anything would be pure speculation. There is a minor day one update to get the PS4 disc running on the PS5 which was to be fully expected and it will bring some minor visual improvements but the full fat update is due further down the line. I would anticipate this being Q1 2021 as CDPR will want to get the game 'fully next-gen' as quickly as possible for people who have adopted the platform.

My logical side says wait until the update as by then they'll have squashed a heap of bugs and I'll be able to play on next-gen from the beginning. My weak side knows I won't be able to put off playing it for that long!

I'm exactly on this boat, but I'm too scared of spoilers (or just flat out scared of myself for wanting to read spoilers). Might just play it now and have a longer play through when next gen version comes

I read the corporate description and strangely my first thought was "that sounds like Syndicate".

I know very little about this game other than a few screenshots and an advert on Facebook with no sound.

That said based on the quality of TW3 alone I feel that CDPR can be trusted to make an immersive and quality title but I'm not in a massive hurry.

I will likely buy this when a next gen release is out but the question will be series x or ps5? Hopefully by then I will have more of a feel for which console will handle it better. I could get it for my gaming laptop but from what I have seen its just not going to be great on a small 17" laptop. Its aching for big TV 4k hdr loveliness!

I'm going to stay strong! Great games come along only a few times a generation and if Cyberpunk is as good as it looks, I want to be totally blown away. There's plenty to play in the meantime.

This is my approach too. I'm just going to play through whatever is in the Gamepass backlog that I've missed (had a PS4 this generation and didn't play any Xbox games), so I'll have that and the next COD to keep me entertained while I wait a little longer for the next gen version!

I wish I could be strong as well... After spoiling the FFVII Remake I have no trust in myself at all. I do have a lot of PS exclusives that I need to catch up on, my last console was a PS3.

Im sure it will look fantastic before the next gen update, I would not be able to hold out, but when the next gen patch releases I will do another play through, will be nice seeing any graphical differences as well.

Im hoping they release the next gen version tigether with a DLC. Thats the dream.

The only thing that would undermine my resolve, is if reviews come out and it turns out that the framerate is much higher on the next gens than on PS4 and Xbone respectively.
