I'm personally sick of waiting for the thing, I had full intentions of playing it on the ps4 pro until it was delayed so as long as it runs smooth I will just play it day one on ps5.

If there is a small bump in fps and or gfx quality then I will see that as a bonus.

Of course the framerate will be higher on next gen machines.. its clear that base consoles will be 30 and next gen 60

Yes, but its not as black and white as that...

Day1 there is a minor patch for the PS4 disc to run on PS5 and visa versa for Xbox. CDPR said there will be some minor performance improvements running it on PS5/SX however, the full 'next-gen' update is to come later and this is more likely to have the proper visual goodies added.

I highly doubt the day 1 patch will do any real significant detail upgrades and it'll largely be the same as current gen consoles maybe with more stable framerate (ie still 30fps but can hold it continuously) and obviously quicker load times.

Not sure there'll be a difference over perhaps an improved frame rate. They're working on a POS5 XBSX version

So do we reckon this game will be good after all the delays, development issues and hype? I'm always wary when a game has to be held back so long due to problems?

It wasn't held back due to problems, it was delayed to give extra time to create the product they envisioned.

Its always been a ready when its ready from the developers, think its had two delays, first was due to it not being ready and I do think the last delay was so they could really give it a good polish to iron out bugs, but I also think the next gen consoles launch had a big play in the last delay as well.

I hope so. We’ve waited long enough. From the trailers I’ve watched recently it’s shaping up to look fantastic. Waiting for the ps5 to be delivered before playing it. I’m not waiting for the next gen patch. Just gonna jump in

Me too! I'm more keen to play cyberpunk than any of the PS5 launch exclusives weirdly!

I suspect I'll be spending more time on my PS5 playing PS4 games this year. At least they'll load a bit quicker if nothing else!

Same here. I’m gonna replay a few PS4 games hopefully with much improved loading times. Like Witcher 3 etc. The main thing putting me off replaying was long load times when dying or fast travelling.

I’ve also ordered miles morales (thanks to @Metalface Mark who posted that curry’s offer in the ps5 thread !) that will be my first spider man game and I’m quite excited. I’ve never really been interested in super hero games but this does look very good.

I'm gonna give spiderman a miss as I didn't enjoy the first game on PS4. Felt like a poor Grand Theft Auto clone to me but I seem to be alone in that opinion as everyone else seemed to love it. So I fully expect the sequel to sell by the bucket load!
