Yeah, even when the American woman passed the spot where the crash had happened there was no sign she was moving. Her head was not at a good angle either. I'm preying she hadn't broken her neck :(

Looks like she made an amateur mistake. If she took the racing line she could have easily made it at that speed.

I'm not sure I agree, it's a dangerous descent. In the men's race there were even more crashes, but they weren't caught on camera. A number reported how there is a lot of off camber, so it forces you into the wrong position and wants to throw you into the gutter.

The thing with the empty seats is that we did have a bit of that here in London at some of the less popular events, but they reacted by forcing sponsors to give up empty seats and letting kids and the military in.

The problem in Rio is that even their big home events are empty. You could say cost is a prohibiting factor, but even the road races which are a free event had a pretty dismal turnout. Just compare it to the crowds in London during the road races.

I know there are a lot of concerns in Brazil about the money being spent, but the games are on and happening now, so you may as well enjoy them. That said, I don't see that it's going to take over their nation in the same way it did quite quickly here once everyone got in the Olympic spirit.

Presumably they're not using that downhill section from the other day? :p

I'm looking forward to the track cycling. I'd love to see Laura Trott become the first GB woman to win 3 Olympic golds.

I am praying for a medal for Cav above all else in this Olympics.

Indeed, in what has been a fantastic career it would only seem fitting if he manages to get an Olympic medal as well.

I'm really looking forward to the track cycling as well. I'll try to catch some of the BMX too but have less of an interest there.
