Cyclists on pavements, do police really care?

I'd like to thank the motorist who pulled out on me Friday morning and put me in A&E.
I've ended up with cracked ribs and a poorly bike but her car was way worse -

AND I PAY FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF THE ROADS

This right here is exactly why I avoid that road and not at all because I'm such a lardass that getting passed by OAPs on bicycles is a regular occurrence.

Seriously though, that's mental. Looks like he was having a little tiff with the Golf though.

Wondered why nobody else spotted that. That geezer in the Golf looks like he deliberately tries to force the van over towards the cyclists.

That's still really heavy! Well.. I think so, but I have stupidly light bikes. I love getting them in for service, they are great fun :p

I ride mine for 95% of the commute with no electric and it is great to ride.
I have another that weighs 25kg and that is hard work if the electrics fail.

About a month ago my Brother in law was giving me a lot of hassle about it so I told him to come down on his £5000 bike which I think weighs somewhere around 5kg.
I told him to ride to the bottom of the bank and back up on his and then he had to get on my 25kg and see what pedal assist he had to have it on to feel the same as his 5kg.
He got back up and said he had it on pedal assist 5 to feel the same as his.
He then tried my 16kg and agreed he needed it on pedal assist 2 to feel like his and I only ever have it on 1.
We agreed that he was actually the cheat on his very light bike :D

That road is full of locals from Brixton, Peckham, Streatham, Norbury, basically Lambeth.

It's full of morons and extremely aggressive drivers.

The whole video is pretty ludicrous really, both the van and the golf driving like utter ******s.
Too busy being self important to give a damn about anything else.

I think we should allow cyclists on all pavements under say a 6mph limit..

6mph is so slow,

10mph would be fine if people would slow to 5mph when over taking pedestrians.

but then you still get the kids flying around at stupid speeds spoiling it for everyone anyway

There are a lot of factors to consider on what the safest course of action is. Considering the lack of proper cycle lens, poor road maintenance, and shocking driver behavior the pavement is often the best place to cycle at a controlled and safe speed. If there are numerous pedestrians then the bike should be pushed.

But really, much more important things to be concerned with, like drivers not giving bicyclists sufficient space when overtaking for example.
