I Wish cyclists would make their mind up whether they are a vehicle or pedestrian. BLOODY SICK of them jumping off kerbs in front of me, riding side by side, cutting corners at T junctions (i.e coming round on wrong side of the road) and using pelican crossings................. and they're the first ones whining and pointing the finger when they get flattened. (Don't panic.....not ran one over yet....but the idea is becoming more and more appealing every day.)

If i drove my car this recklessly, I'd be banned or worse.

Last summer, a bloke came around a bend on the wrong side of the road and ploughed is arse straight through my windscreen (I saw his head come screaming down the road above the fence line and I had stopped anticipating the olympic class pillock that was approaching).....£75 down the toilet via my insurance for a new one and a day off work waiting for autoglass. Why the hell I should be out of pocket is beyond me. Had a letter from the police stating that he had had a warning. If that was me in my car, I'd have been done for driving without due care and attention.

Seriously brasses me off!

No insurance, no road tax contribution, no MOT......motor vehicles applying to any one of these criteria = DEEP excrement.

Riding side by side is allowed, and there's no such thing as road tax.

Otherwise, carry on. I'm a cyclist and most cyclists are nobs.

I think that cyclists are generally to be applauded for getting out of their cars, but I have seen a lot of them skip red lights, enter and exit the pavements willy-nilly and even seen them riding along pavements NEXT to cycle lanes...

I used to be a right arse on my bike when I was younger, but I pretty much cycle on the road as I would drive a car these days. Partly as I also drive and know how annoying it is, but mainly as it's a heck of a lot safer that way.

No such thing as road tax? If u mean at all, then you can't be from this planet :D

If you mean for cyclists....then thats Exactly my point ;)

I think he means vehicle tax, but his point stands.

Yes, most cyclits are nobs. However so are most car drivers from what I see day in day out.

I'd agree with that, car drivers are also insufferable plebs sometimes....but (with the exception of the SCUM that is the uninsured driver) if a motor vehicle driver causes an accident, there are measures in place (insurance etc) to allocate blame/ responsibility and the financial penalty/ recompense that goes with it.

Cyclists just sod off and end of story

Aye but if it's a narrow/busy road then cyclists should be in single file. And on bends too.

There is no such thing as Road tax. You're mixing it up with vehicle excise duty.

This car doesnt pay any either, shall we ban that from the roads too?

The bicycle is deemed as a vehicle that is not required to pay any VED, just like that focus.

Hi andyocuk

I hereby promise to pay you directly, the equivalent ved based on the current emissions of my bicycle. Mail in trust and I'll grab your bank details.

Cheers,

Robbie G.

Sigh.

For £75? I wouldn't be bothering Judge Judy with that.

Exactly - not fair! should have followed him home and beaten my £75 back out of him

....and preferrably on the correct side of the road with their arse on their saddle as opposed to on my dashboard!

My boss has a serious sense of humour failure when he meets two cyclists riding side by side.
I'm mean properly... Like he owns the ****ing road.
Bloody embarrassing listen to him rant on about them.

Saying that I'm no angel on the bike either.
On a charity 40 miler the other week a set of lights went red on me that I was turning left at, so I hopped up onto the pavement and carried on.
Didn't impede any other driver or pedestrian but I bet one of the cars drivers were seething about it. :D

I think its pretty fair to say that road tax the lesser issue here? If it bothers you that much, lets remove it from the equation totally and we're left with no insurance/ MOT. In other words a cyclist has no road going litigatory obligations in place to compensate victims of their recklesness for damage to cars etc even when its their fault?
