Cyptolambo 2 is dead.... kindai goes car shawping

As Gibbo Said, DB11 was also on the list. Kind of still is potentially.

This one at Baytree caught my eye, but will try one locally first.

Give them a call last time I went there they were just like Scott Hardy, threw me the keys and said be back within an hour. They always have a great selection of cars too so maybe select a couple to drive and they also allow inspections by manufacturer so seem to have nothing to hide unlike that other place I warned you about.

There is good reason DB11 are so cheap. Nobody really likes them or wants them.

They arent the nicest AM to look at
AM had to give massive discounts on them when new in order to shift them - 10-15% was common.
The have the worst depreciation of any AM but that might mean they have reached rock bottom and you might not lose much more buying one second hand .....or they continue to plummet
The Merc infotainment system in it was dated even when it was new
DB11 is very much a GT which is fine if that is what you want?

Would much rather have a DBS or a Vanquish over a DB11.

Sagaris is worth a try and 991 GT3

Neither do it for me, not to mention how Porsche market at the moment is in total freefall.

Surprised you didn't try a Ferrari,

Dropping down sub 100k puts me into 360/430 money only. Realistically I want something a bit more upto date, a 458 is on my future ownership list but good ones are 120+ atm.

I think you should at least have a look at / test drive one :D

:)

Have you thought about a Mondeo?

I did, but decided on the Quashqi instead :D

I did, but decided on the Quashqi instead :D

I'd have thought you'd have found a connection with just about anything after the Qashqai  (to be fair I've found mine surprisingly practical but it is utterly hateful if you enjoy driving).

I was in Solihull Ferrari, Porsche and McLaren on Saturday. A mate drove up from Somerset to view an 812 Superfast they have in Graypaul Ferrari, so it was a good opportunity to have a catch up and nose at motors. In my experience these sorts of cars are such a subjective thing and also come down to where you are in your head at any given moment.

It is also interesting to see how different dealers are and IMHO Ferrari have become what Porsche was and vice versa. I was in Exeter Ferrari and Porsche 2 weeks back and Porsche didn't seem interested in a discussion whereas Ferrari could not have been nicer. At the weekend it was much the same. Porsche's only interaction was to ask "do either of you have the pickup", a somewhat odd question we felt.

For me right now Ferrari is what appeals. Never had one and I think I want one. F12 is where I am focused. I have bounced around McLaren's for sometime but on visiting their showroom this weekend nothing sparked my interested. Gorgeous 720 in there but just wasn't getting me going. Fabulous things, not much quicker out there and great value, but just not getting me going.

Same with Porsche, a brand I loved, just not getting into the head like they used to. Next week I could do the same trip and that might change but it's an odd thing buying cars like this I find.

Depending on which way you lean, early V12 Vantages are within the budget. Unfortunately they don't really have the colour palette and maybe not the dynamics you are looking for.

But would be difficult for me to overlook.

Initially, was looking at a 720s, the prices of them have come down a lot, and they are next level mental. The problem is, much like now, where do you go "after" that?

Accordingly, after some discussions with @Gibbo on the drive up to drop the lambo off, it seems sensible to "drop down" a couple of levels, so can have that enjoyment again of buying bigger and better.
You sure this is a good strategy? You're young, can afford it, why not do it now? Who knows what will happen tomorrow?
