Will do.
Another curve ball is that when you look at 720s then you are in the realms of both 458 and 488s.
Budget creep is real
I'm a tad bias, but I'd keep searching for an F-type. Special special vehicles and you can get quite a top decent spec and age on for the budget.
but I'd keep searching for an F-type.
I suspect one of those is going to make money soon due to increase in popularity and not being made anymore.Since I have my alerts set up there has been 1 SVR added to the market and 40+ R8's.
Do I save for a house or spend on an F-type?F-Type SVR at under 50k takes some beating, great cars!

Auto100 are very sketchy IME, they present some lovely looking cars, but everything I've been to see has patchy service histories.. I went to look at a Jag v6 F-Type the other month and that had a missing service, and they claimed they'd just had it serviced at a main dealer, only to find that was just an oil/filter change and not a scheduled service! They got arsey over an AMV8 when I wanted an inspection done since clutches are a consumable and oil leaks in the wrong place are expensive! After some further thoughts and remembering how amazing Gibbos F-Type SVR is, spotted this amazing example online.
Right colors, right options, right spec.
Ding ding ding. And then a couple of days before I was off to see it, Gibbo was at Auto100 and said the car looked clean.
Rang up, and booked a drive as well as a holding deposit, I genuinely expected to go test drive it and do a deal.
However, after running some checks, the last 2 years service history is missing. Rang up Jag and they have no record of official servicing, which is weird as they are cheap even for main dealer.
Did some more followups with the dealer and they likewise cant find the last 2 years history. Ok, not a problem, proposed that they have a catch up service done, have the car inspected by Jag and then warranty the car. Seems reasonable no? Well, according to the dealer, no, they wouldnt agree to that.
So, asked for my deposit back which they did the same day and moved on.
Absolute shame.
Really nailed the design of this model. Perfect from all angles.

I've looked at a car or two there before, it was an... interesting experience. They were generally fine but the whole setup is a bit strange, an old factory full of random supercars and Range Rovers.
Their photography is excellent, virtually every single car on the pictures looks immaculate, yet in reality that isn't the case (nor would you expect it to be, in fairness).
I dislike their policy that you can only visit to collect the car - you can't view it (although they did agree to this in the end for me). They claim this is to reduce overheads, but that is complete BS, they know the majority of people will turn up to collect their car, all excited, and despite finding a few small issues, will end up taking it away regardless. Same for any slightly odd service work, a lot of people will just go ahead anyway...
I initially turned up at their 'prep centre' by mistake which is a slightly rough looking old garage with a couple of mechanics fiddling about with the cars. They seemed a bit worried I'd seen it!
Oakdene Collection around the corner is owned by them too, similar setup, selling slightly older/higher mileage cars. They all look pristine in the pictures, of course.
I got the impression they are buying cars traded in at dealers which dealers for whatever reason themselves won’t sell on their own forecourts which says a lot……
Accordingly, after some discussions with @Gibbo on the drive up to drop the lambo off, it seems sensible to "drop down" a couple of levels, so can have that enjoyment again of buying bigger and better.
It's painful how expensive cars in Spain are, even the most worn looking automatic original r8s with 150k kilometres in silver are 60k+
I know they're quick, but I'd imagine they feel like a bus after the cars he's driven.Room for plenty of shopping?

Nice mk3 Supra there. I miss mine, wish I didn't sell it.R8’s are bargains but buying well is a must there was a gent with one of the early S Tronic (DSG) V10’s and even at £40,000 he could not sell it and in the end had to let trade have it for like 37k. Was only on like 40k miles too but in fairness it was grey and general spec but it just shows a gen2 will be down at 50k with miles added and in a year two certainly trade value anyway.
Remember I paid 36k for mine which for a super rare example with wing back buckets, manual and exclusive spec with only 29k miles just shows how hard they get hit.
I’ve seen people not able to get 25k for an R Tronic high mileage car, values are been hammered and there is thousands of them, totally a buyers market whereas a 570 is far less in numbers and I feel they have bottomed or are very close.
A shameless photo of mine I love it and they are ace but don’t drop 80k on one as it will hand you your ass in a year or two…..
