Daley abused on Twitter after diving failure.

Twitter is a horrible platform for boasting, bickering and name calling it's the digital equivalent of a school playground.

Blindingly obvious troll but people have responded in exactly the wrong way by giving him exactly what he wants - attention.

The sooner people realise this and just ignore such nonsense, the sooner it will die out because it's no fun to do.

The fun isn't in the insult itself, purely the reaction - the insult is merely a tool to drive that reaction. No reaction, no fun. Simple.

I suspect Daley had a secondary motive for retweeting it, to garner some sympathy and direct blame for his loss.

Personally if I were coaching a world class athlete I would severely restrict media access so they keep focused on the sport. I doubt the Chinese athletes have any of the same dramas.

But at least he's not a dolphin.

And that's what makes him a ***. It's too easy. Like insulting autistic blind children. All his fans think he's some genius provocative and controversial writer and comedian. But he's not. Better writers and comedians bring light on subjects without being vile and abusive. He's not even making a statement about anything with his dolphin insult aside from being belittling. Any one that classes that as comedy probably hovers around the Chubby Brown level of what they think constitutes comedy.

Yes, because all comedy has to be clever. Funny stuff doesn't have to be clever, if it makes someone laughs then that's all that matters. Who are you to judge if comedy is good or bad? It's totally subjective.

Check out his profile pic! Insignificant little twerp.
The way things are these days he'll get lifted for some sort of malicious communications offence or something.

He's even making threats to shoot people. Sad little person.

I never said it had to be. Only that his fans defend his rubbish by claiming he's controversial and provocative and nobody understands his genius. But there's nothing funny about belittling people because of how they look. It's. Too. Easy. I could say he looks like a Scotch Egg. But that's too easy.

It is subjective. And if that's what you find funny, you're probably as bad as he is.
