Daley abused on Twitter after diving failure.

haha someone tweeted his number! he's going to get a lot of abuse via text now, hopefully so much that he'll need to change his number! So, no twitter, no phone! What will he do

I honestly wouldn't be upset if someone beat him to within an inch of his worthless life. Not a massive advocate of violence but it's fiercely deserved in this case.

Stupid idiot on twitter what a disgusting thing to say. These trolls really have no lives.

As for Frankie Boyle well really, its not exactly the height of humour to mock a woman for her looks is it. He needs to try a tad harder to be funny these days, he has gone from good value to mocking simple targets. Less power to him, he needs some better jokes.

So it's ok to mock a man for his looks?

Sexist ............ :p

Not what I was saying ;)

I was referring to his comments about Adlington, who is a woman, I'd think it was hardly the height of humour to call a male swimmer dolphin face either. It's not OK to mock either gender but lets face it its easier for a man to rip the mickey out of a woman in this way, for cheap laughs.

I also believe women who are athletes are more likely to draw comment about their looks than men are.

Either way I think Frankie Boyle is just not trying hard as a comedian and has lost his edge along with his originality. There is biting wit and comment and then there is calling someone a big nose..bit playgroundy for me. What is he..6?

People shouldn't get built up like a medal is a sure thing, as for abusing his dead dad, that's just the lowest of the low from a total nobody.

Exactly. Sadly simple-minded life forms that just crawled out of the primordial ooze (read: That twitter user) would believe the hysterical media predictions time and time again. They get built up to almost impossible levels and when they fail 8/10 times, nobody can understand why.

Yes, but I suspect you'd find it less offensive if he were insulting a man.

People have preconceived ideas of what's right & wrong. Frankie Boyle seeks to push those boundaries for comedic effect. There's no real malicious intent.

Personally I find his humour puerile at times, but it's the way he tells it that often makes me laugh, which is part of his talent as a performer.

What boundaries is he pushing for comedic effect when he belittles someone because of how they look? Or if their kid is blind and has autism?

Boyle doesn't push boundaries. All he's interested in is being as offensive as possible or as offensive as he thinks he can get away with, for cheap laughs that he can fob off as "pushing boundaries" or "only a bit of banter".

Actually I wouldn't find it less offensive either way.

I don't really find it offensive anyway (lets face it there are worse things, I find the tweet to Daly offensive for example), I just find it cheap and unfunny. I don't think its pushing boundaries to call someone a big nose or compare a swimmer who has a big nose to a dolphin. I just don't find it ground breaking enough.

I think he has become unfunny. Which is a shame as I used to find him really amusing. It strikes me as really lazy stuff.

In real life if someone calls someone face to face you just walk away. However on Twitter if someone gets called then it gets blown out of proportion and makes front page headlines. Why doesn't the diver kid just ignore the idiot and get on with his life ....

I think we should create an internet 2.0, cut out a lot of the racism and nasty horrible people from the internet and make them an internet viewing room so they can watch but not be horrible like this.

Eventually they will have an internet-fake-edition where they troll each other and boundaries will eventually be understood.

Till then down with this sort of thing! As its not cool
