Dark day for PC gaming... well gaming in general :(

Not familiar with his work, though I've heard his name many a time.

Pretty staggering that it can happen to someone so young.

Having read his posts on another forum I find it pretty easy to dislike him tbh. Then there's the wishing cancer on someone before getting cancer himself :o.

If that's true, that's kinda karma coming back to bite you...

Don't really know him, but even if the above is true, even so, i wish him good luck to him and his family.

"Get cancer and die" were his exact words. But yeah he obviously didn't mean it.

Well, I don't know if there is really a right way to tell people this, so I guess here goes. The CT did not come back negative. The cancer in the bowel is gone, but spots have appeared in my liver. They're not operable and there's no cure. Average life expectancy is 2-3 years, though there are outliers that live much longer. I'll be back on chemo in a few weeks, with the goal of pushing it back and keeping it there for as long as possible. I fully intend to be the outlier, the average is this way because most people that get this are old and not strong anymore. Who knows what they'll come up with in the next decade? I intend to beat it for as long as possible. Gonna need some time to process all of this. I don't really feel anything right now. Thanks.

John Bain, Total Biscuit

Never liked most of his reviews but I know that many people loved him. Still feel sorry for him.

I remember him from my planetside days. He could be an a***, but was usually on point and was mostly balanced in his rebuttal (and very funny in smacking down the total trolls). Hadn't realise he gained a following till a few years ago. Such sad news and I just hope he can keep fighting for a long time.

Such sad news. A lot of people don't agree with him but surly nobody can deny the effort he has put in to entertaining people and ripping some people a new one.

Great attitude he has toward it, people have beat inoperable/curable diagnosis before and lived far longer than they were told they could. Hopefully he does the same. Really sad news though, I thought it had gone :(.

I've met him a few times 4-6 years ago now and he really didn't strike me as the type of guy to mean something like that.

Truly a nice guy to talk to and get on with.

Great story behind the first time I met him, I was at relatively small LAN event (100 people) and some guy starts shouting from the other side of the room "any more for LoL?" next minute I'm invited by "TotalBiscuit".. That explained the posh mic setup he had on his desk :D
