Dark day for PC gaming... well gaming in general :(

Thought the dude had beaten cancer, terrible news. His 2-3 year prognosis isn't entirely accurate I don't think, that's more for older, weaker patients. He will hopefully live a lot longer and fingers crossed a miracle or cure happens.

a lot of people, especially on Reddit are calling 'karma' from his comments to another person a while back, telling them to 'get cancer and die' or something, but c'mon, nobody deserves this.

Cancer is Cancer I had a mate in his late 20's die from Liver cancer and my old manager at the NHS in his late 40's died from it too within a year he was very athletic too and a marathon cyclist.

Very sad news, I've only watched a few of his videos (as I rarely watch such things) but really enjoyed them.

Lets all try to remember how lucky we are and enjoy life while we can, you never know when it could suddenly change.

It's kinda of depressing, but I'm personally used to it by now. I've had many wonderful people, friends and family taken away from me by cancer and similar diseases. Life is just cruel sometimes. The best we can do is enjoy and make the most of the time we still have.

Oh and the Blood Bowl doesn't help. That game just induces rage in TB. Last year's league was just 100% bad luck on dice rolls for him.

Gamers say stupid stuff like anybody else, doesn't make it right.. but honestly on the odd occasion I'll pop onto the likes of WoT or platforms with a similarly toxic community its common place, you just learn to not pay attention or use ignore features if it bothers you.

Regardless, its still harsh... 31 is not an age, I'm only a bit older myself.. maybe paired with the timing (movember and so on) it will encourage others to take the disease more seriously and get themselves checked out.. us lot (pre 40's) have a habit of taking for granted we'll unlikely get it till we're older if at all, thats how it catches you out.

Still hits pretty close to home, I lost someone very close to lung cancer in the last year. Suspect theres a few who are either survivors or have lost people themselves who feel the same.

Don't really follow the channel seldom watching the odd review.. but must be doing something right to have such a huge following... definitely set the bar in regards to how you can make good on a hobby.. so can concentrate on the fight to come rather than worrying about juggling bills inbetween chemo

Nobody deserves that though

I have watched all of his content for many years now, and I can understand how people can not like him tbh(I often find my self rolling my eyes tbh)but he is without doubt the greatest champion for gamers, especially PC gamers around imo. He does his best to create content that gives consumers all of the info that they need in order to decide on a purchase, and in recent times when the PC has not been getting the best versions and sometimes games that play really badly he has always done his best to shine a light on it, which has been invaluable to gaming over recent years imo.

I wish him and his family all the best. He would be a big loss to gaming at this point in time imho

His tweets the last couple of days have been pretty normal. Which makes me feel sorry for him, because I know it's always right there in his mind, but he's trying to push it away mentally.

I love the guy, and am hoping for the best.

I find him completely insufferable but yeah, no ill will wished.

I do find the general "thing" of "internet personality" a bit... odd in general. He's just one that's happened to be extremely vocal about a few games I'm interested in.

He's not really an "internet personality". He's the foremost PC games critic on the planet.

The saddest thing is he will probably not live long enough to see the full release of Day Z, and thus give it the critique it deserves.

If that's how they think Karma works, then perhaps they should ponder on how it comes back on people taking glee in, or otherwise refusing empathy for, someone receiving such restitution.

Indeed, I wouldn't say that's karma, more like a tragic irony.

I hope he sticks to his conviction and keeps on fighting, it makes all the difference.
