Dark Souls 3?

No but I put some good time in and look forward to adding a few hundred more on top. :)

There's loads of content and exploration is rewarding and even more interesting, with a lot of looped, winding, vertical paths through levels.

wow. I spend 45 minutes trying to work out where to go from Firelink.

You're told exactly what to do but when I tried to warp there was a message saying I could not. So after lots of searching I thought it was a bug.
Turns out I hadn't fully read the message - it said I can't warp because game data wasn't installed!!! What an idiot!!

So a DS noob here, like the look of the DS series have watched the odd stream of DS2 on twitch before. Would you recommend starting at the start of the series or can I just jump into DS3?

Finished this just now, i've had the game since Saturday so I don't know how many hours i've spent but must be a good 4/5 a day. Have to say, I much preferred this over 2, and it felt more like Bloodborne to me which is a good thing.

Most of the bosses weren't too much trouble, I died more to mobs who hit pretty hard in some places. Two bosses in particular gave me serious trouble though, i'm talking 2 hour trouble. Infuriating :p

All in all though pretty awesome game, doesn't quite match up to Bloodborne for me however.

If you look at your save game in the menu it will tell you how long you have played for, I find it hard to believe you have finished it in just 20 hours without a guide or something though.

No guide, last time I saw playtime it was on 26 hours. I've spent a few hours on the last boss tonight. So about 30 hours all in i'd say.

I need to get some fresh air :/

One thing I did like about the first play through was that I didn't have to do any farming. It's nice that the Estus flask refills on death, or bonfire use rather than having to grind out blood vials. That's one thing DS3 does nicer than Bloodborne.

A lot of the bosses are optional so if you have fairly decent past experience of the game and go for the direct route the I guess 20 hours is doable.

I picked up the PAL version and it's good to see the lore for each weapon during loading screens amongst other things. Only pain is the run button on the Japanese version was X and it's O on this one. So I keep pressing the wrong button during boss fights.

Killed the dragon on the high wall this time round though - quite easy with the bow.

How long were you expecting? I've just had a look online and I did actually miss one area that has two bosses apparently so will have to do that at some stage. I've got 12/15 estus shards and 7/10 bone shards so it's not like i've just run through the mandatory bits. Doubt I will have picked up many of the character story lines but I never do with these games, they're so vague it's nigh on impossible to do them without a guide.

30 hours since Saturday? :)

Yeah, frightening.

In between contracts with work so haven't really had much to do during the day. That's my excuse anyway :p
