Dark Souls 3?

Interested in trying another character can you have multiple characters or just the one? When tried to select new game it didn't mention anything about a save slot for the new char?

it just save all the time, if you hit continue it will load your current character, if you want to reload any other character just go to 'load' and you will see them all there

I managed to get the latest calibrations for the first time on Xbox, but not once did i see a summon sign.

Beat the cursed rotted Greatwood 2nd attempt, it's not that hard, but the tricky bit is hitting the boils i found not locking on helped loads.

Also bought the tower key for 20k souls and collected the items up there, plus the items on the far tower which you have to jump down, one of which is a Estus ring and give extra HP when estus is used.

Made my way through the woods and now onto Farrons keeps, one enemy on the way completely ruins me though, so after a few tries I've left it for later.

do you mean that Knight :) yeah he messed me up, but there is something really good behind him!

I ran in got the goods and run all the way back and died by campfire :)

Literally getting my back side handed, been stuck on the same bit for about 2 hours hahaha. Any advice? Should I farm souls?

stuck on the Vordt boss

It's all about the rolling with him. He telegraphs his attacks pretty obviously so you need to learn them and roll under his swings at the right moment. Half the fight you can keep out of range pretty easily if you have any ranged weapons or spells to soften him up with.

Yeah, two hits and i die, i got the goodies but want to kill him, Not to happy with the hit boxes on this game tbh, take the knight for example he has a sliding attack which even if you roll to the side some how still connects.

Also got killed through a tree by a big thing with a tree like weapon in Farrons keep.

Get under him, he can't hit you then, and after his charge attack rung behind him before he does his ice attack as it's free hit time.

I found him a little easy really, some enemies are much harder.

Seen a couple of videos where people are getting crosshairs up with the crossbow and bow.

Need it to shoot the dragon, does anyone know how to do this I am struggling lol. PS4 btw

You need to get the Binoculars, and then press the left shoulder to use them while having the bow equipped, Not sure it's worth it tbh as you only get one Titanite scale or something.

No you don't, L1 has always been manual aim and zoom when using a bow/crossbow, when zoomed you can adjust using up and down on the dpad to change magnification.

You need to two-hand the crossbow (press triangle on PS4, I assume Y on XB1) and then pressing L1 will give you the zoomed view :) (for regular bows, you are always two-handing so it works all of the time).

Oh and it is worth killing the dragon as you get some titanite but also access to a claymore and quite a nice axe in the tower he was sitting on (be wary of the chest though). IIRC you need to get him down to about 20% health then he flies off, I just stood in the doorway below the nearby bonfire and his flames didn't touch me. Took about 80 arrows and 5 minutes. The only downside is that early on it can be quite useful to keep him there to farm that area because when you shoot the dragon he'll roast about 400 souls worth of enemies. It's pretty slow as farming goes but zero risk involved and nets about 1000 souls/min.

I've been doing a lot of co-op (letting myself be summoned) to ease myself in as I'm finding the regular enemies pretty tough. It's a good way to explore an area and farm some souls since you don't lose anything if you die. It doesn't give the "pure" experience but as a 30-something gamer with a family, I play games for fun and co-op smooths out the difficulty nicely :)

Most of my deaths have been from falling of ledges so far.
Both my controllers have problems with the left stick. One just stops me running which is common and the other randomly makes me walk backwards without pressing anything - hence falling off ledges!!!

I didn't realise it was doing it but it really explains all those random backflips in Rocket League when trying to double jump!!!!!

Think i'm pretty much at the end now - it's def the shortest in the series as I'm only 25 hours in. But i've loved it - I'll go through it a few more times while messing about a lot with PvP with friends.

Patch 1.04 is due out this afternoon

Performance adjustment for "Greatsword"
Battle performance adjustment for "Dancer's Enchanted Sword," "Winged Knight Twinaxes"
Performance adjustment for "Soul's Greatsword," and "Farron Flashsword"
Fix for issue where multiple items become impossible to use at "Road of Sacrifices," "Farron Keep," "Cathedral of the Deep," after clearing the game.
General balance adjustments and bug fixes

Great game, completed yesterday, was annoyed by some bosses so after few wipes I summoned some help :) Used STR build, melee only with shield and 1h straight sword.

Also few things that I've noticed:
- when you get Blood Loos debuf (the one that eats a lot of your hp constantly) just equip a torch which you can buy and the debuf wears off.
- as a lot of bosses are super aggressive and fast faster weapons seems to be the way to go in DS3, I found the game much easier with a faster weapon equipped.
- there are many weapons in the game but you get some very decent weapon early in the game which you can use to finish the game without any issues.
- early in the game I recommend spending all points into Vitality (up to 27 to reach first soft cap) and few points into Endurance for more stamina, I think this will help you a lot if you find the game too tough.

As always first playthrough seems to be the hardest, started playing another char, this time DEX build and the game is so much easier as always :) Really enjoying it and as always 10/10 from FromSoftware.

Ive gave up haha, listed on MM.
Spent 7 hours in total playing and I'm maybe about 5% into the game. Jesus it's hard and I just haven't got the patience and think it's more that I'm not used to this type of game.

What I have played I've enjoyed and gutted I find it so hard!

You tend to suddenly turn a corner in these games and then they are just hard rather than super punishing.

Any tips for dancer of the boreal valley? I can't beat it. I've been stuck for 2 days and about 40 attempts lol

Summoning not working at all have tried for hours, Xbox one
