Dashcams!

As me and my best mate have Fords, can I ask roughly what area this TrustFord was?

Also, if the manager doesn't offer you something satisfactory, I would decline it and suggest you will take it to Ford Head Office instead. Ask for names of all involved, including his own and see what he says. I expect Head Office would have a better understanding of the brand damage that could be done.

I would also suggest people look into one of those cheap trackers. Can be had for about £30 and £10 of GiffGaff top up will last months and months.

The driver would do well to hand his resignation in and make that the end of it rather than me sending in the footage to the police and being done for driving without due care and potentially TWOC given there was no reason to drive the car on the road. That's how far I'm willing to take it if he thinks he can cling on to his job.

I'd be handing it over to the police regardless of the outcome in all fairness.

NW London.

Oh dear. Edgware? I was there test driving a new car on Wednesday. My mate uses them for his ST 200 (that he bought from them).

Lets hope they do the right thing.

Me too, otherwise this is going everywhere.

Dashcams is easy to see and disconnect, but they don't seem to
When i drop of my car, i leave the dashcam as it is (front and back) it is obvious I have a dashcam because it speaks to you when you put the keg to ignition and starts up lol

No reason to disconnect it unless you're taking it out to do handbrake turns :p

Absolutely disgusting! Why didn't their manager challenge them when they took the car out? Or when they returned? As you say there was no reason to drive it. I suspect no one there gives a damn and everyone knew they were going out for a joyride in a customers car.

I really hope you get exactly everything you want from that garage and not a thing less!

That whole ordeal sounds so frustrating.

Are there any manufacturer produced dashcams as an option on purchase? Would be easier to integrate and hide eh. I'd heard the manufacturers hate them, but can't recall why.

Would you be cool with customers putting a microphone and camera on your desk? :p

Would you be cool with taking your car in to have something like your door bins re-carpeted and then being taken out for a test drive with launches, handbrake turns etc being done?

I agree cameras etc. shouldn't be needed but equally neither is abusing a customer's car because you want to have a laugh with a mate.

Someone at the Ford garage disconnected the power to my dashcam when it was last serviced. Don't see the point myself - all it would capture is the bonnet being up in front of it. The mileage didn't go up so they didn't take it for a drive, but it'd be nice if they re-connected it when they were finished at least.

Demand a free upgrade to Focus RS...

I happen to know they have a brand new one sat on their forecourt :)

My friend that bought his ST from them, gets on quite well with the sales lady. I might ask him to mention to her, he saw this video of their mechanics etc, "what's going on?" Might help give them a kick up the arse?

@Howard

I would think plenty of hardworking and honest people would be uncomfortable being monitored or recorded at their place of work.

Obviously what has happened to Janesy is crap but I can see why dashcams get unplugged.
