Dashcams!

I'm looking at a Viofo A329S/T, 2 or 3 channel version for my Kuga.

Just need to work out all the kit I need to hardwire it and how much of a faff it will be to cable manage it all under the trim/liner. Don't mind the buying, it's the fitting that puts me off as I want it neat and tidy. :D

@Gazanimal - I bought the A229 Ultra 3 channel to fit into a Polo, wasnt too difficult to cable manage , i was dreading it and kept putting it off, however was pleasantly surprised it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be, and I'm fussy (OCD level) with it needing to be neat and hidden.
Came pretty much with all required , if you want parking mode too buy the hardwire kit.
Only advice I can give is if you want parking mode decide now/upfront as its easier to wire the hardwire kit now than retospectively as need to remove the power wiring that comes with the camera and rewire otherwise.

Yep I'd want the parking mode, so would definitely get the hardwire kit. Just trying to work out which fuse taps I need and also if I should get an extra battery pack to run the dashcam from, rather than draining the main car battery.

Good thing about the latest firmware on Viofo is you can geofence the parking mode with 3 different zones

It means you can tell it not to put on parking mode in upto 3 locations but, outside of these locations, parking mode activates.

I have it set.to my home and work locations as both have CCTV covering the car better than a dash cam will but, if I go to the shops, Parking Mode auto activates as it is outwith the GPS geofence zones

Works really well

edit: meant to say.. it took me about 30 mins to hardwire and install front and rear cameras... Much much easier than I thought it would be. Fuse Taps are the way to go

Battery is an option if you dont want to wire directly to the car or fusetap etc, and I believe Viofo have a specific dash cam battery with appropriate leads. I did look at getting the battery but its not readily available in the UK direct from Viofo. I think a couple of places sell it, or you can buy from Viofo.nl but its not cheap and not sure re warranty if buying from nl.
Again if you decide to go this route, buy battery and fit at same time, as the battery comes with specific power leads for the dashcam too, so you dont have to rewire.
Other option is using the ODB port connector, still uses car battery but saves hardwiring/fuse tap
Also buy a large flash card as I believe the A329s combines the video files into 1 , ie multistream in one file, so larger file sizes if i remember correctly
Either way good luck with whatever option you go for, you wont be disappointed though, they are pretty decent dashcams, I'm really happy with mine.

Looking to get the A329t-3ch with the telephoto camera.

Anyone know of any decent discount codes for the VioFo website? I know "Ashley" does 5%.

I think I'll stick with the hardwire version tbh, rather than the battery and look at which fuse I should use as some recommend ignition connected, whereas other say a permanent live (both have pros and cons due to battery drain or not)

Using the Viofo website for the majority of the dashcam and accessories is cheaper than BezosBay, especially with the discount code, but things like the SD card are cheaper on the rain forest so I might mix where I purchase things, but I hate the fact an SD card I bought 2 years ago that's tripled in price now. :D

Do you use the Viofo MicroSD or something like SanDisk Extreme which I use in my Drones?
