Dashcams!

So, brought a Transcend dp200v2 in the end, just went with something that seems half decent :p

Installed it in to my Focus on Sunday, ran the cable along the roof, down the pillar under my seat then in to the middle box behind the hand break, seems to work...only thing is I need to unplug it as it appears to keep power to it.

Video quality is good enough for me. Would rather have it mounted somewhere else (it's left of the rear view mirror ATM) but can't really put it anywhere else.

Lads I need a decentish dash cam that records both front and rear for my supra, budget of around £150.

The one I have I paid around £60 2 years ago, the quality is poor and it seems to not function after 80 leptons. I get audio but no video?? You get what you pay for I guess...

Any recommendations?

The Nextbase 402g looks a good unit, does anyone use one? Gonna be driving a whole lot more with a change of job location so looking for a decent discrete unit.

yes had two of them from our local half'ds and both frozen on me could not do nothing so I returned them and went for the 512g in the end and and just my luck am on my 3rd one of them as well. the other two had an buzzing/rattle sound on play back, so again I returned to half'ds (they love me there) and now am on the 3rd in which is so far ok. so in all I had 5 of nextbase units and according to the manufacture they said that they had a bad patch where the buttons on top of the unit had become undone or loose something like that on the 512g's but this was a year ago but like most of my luck I always pick the crap ones :D. but am having an free case and sd card from nextbase for my trouble WOW how nice of them.
any way when they work they are great little units picture quality is great even at night. but the software can a bit dodgy on windows 7.don't bother with the policewitness program after your trail period is up cost you an arm and leg just to post any video's to them and also don't try to sign up any car insurance through them its a scam:mad:

Went to overtake a lorry which was spraying water all over the road, hit a puddle and the back end swung out  - Thankfully DSC did its job.

Normally wet road surfaces are fine, no issues at all but that patch was pretty heavy

Very impressed with the video quality there in those light conditions.

should have gone faster, above 100 and that puddle would have dispersed and you would have spent less time on it. Drive faster.

What camera are you using and are you not worried that with a soft top someone will slice your roof to nick it?

It's a small village buddy, if you're that impatient to not do the 30mph speed limit you need a word with yourself.

That and the fact there just happened to be a speed awareness group/camera just outside the pre-school.

Supersports.

Hurfdurf it's a Mini 0806 with the high bitrate firmware. And no, not really worried as it's mounted out of immediate eyeshot :p
