Dashcams!

no, the F750 rear camera apparently does not work with the F770

Thanks, any chance you could take a picture of your cables/ports they plug into? My F750 is hardwired and just been offered the chance of a F770 for a cheap price so tempted to see what the difference is like. I just want to make sure it's plug and play with the same wiring.

EDIT: Looks like it should work? https://www.blackboxmycar.com/blogs/news/faq-will-the-thinkware-f750-rear-camera-work-with-the-f770

Thanks, just been reading a few posts from people that have upgraded. The wiring for the F750 will still work although not perfect (need to cut some of the plastic or get an adapter to close the flap). Will have a think this weekend about taking the plunge.

Have you managed to get your parking recording working yet?

yes parking recording has been working for a little while now, after I swapped the cables around

buy direct and get the hardwire version to use parking mode
wont drain the battery on the tthinkware, they cut off when reach a certain voltage or after a time you set (like 48 hours)

Ok thanks, getting there slowly with this.

Would i need to connect it to an ignition switched live? E.g Something like heated seats, or a permanent live for parking mode?

Strange as I just been reading about this and it says it does work..

FAQ: Will the Thinkware F750 Rear Camera work with the F770?

Many customers of ours who currently have the Thinkware F750 front and rear cameras expressed an interest in upgrading to the redesigned F770 due to its much sleeker design. While they knew the power cable/hardwiring kit would work with the new camera, they weren't sure if the rear camera would be interchangeable.

The short answer is yes! if you plug the rear camera for the F750 into the F770 it will definitely work. There is one minor caveat though, the rear camera cable for the F750 uses a straight tipped design whereas the F770 has a right angled tip. This means that the wire management flap on the F770 can't be closed properly when matched with a straight tipped rear camera cable as seen in the picture below (shared by our customer Sir Loin on DashCamTalk). In our testing the disadvantages are purely aesthetic and the flap doesn't rattle or cause any differences in performance

Routed my Nextbase 402G today. Got it off eBay for £60 as 'refurbished, very good'. Box didn't have a dent on it, all packaging was in place, everything was still cable tied together, looked like an un-used gift or something. Very happy with it, bargain IMO at under half price for practically brand new.

I've been using it with http://www.registratorviewer.com/index_en.html which is perfect.

My only comment so far is that during the day it'll sometimes not get the exposure quite right, so it can make daytime scenes quite dark. Probably something I just need to fiddle with in the settings. You can adjust the exposure with a button on the thing, but don't really want to be doing that while driving :p

Was thinking of ordering the Thinkware F770 2-ch dash cam for my car today but been reading a lot of bad reviews..
So now I don't know which Dash cam I want to order  :(

Which one/s would you guys recommend ?

You are pointing it too high with too much sky. Point it lower with more road covering the frame.

Finished the installation of my F770 today and everything appears to be working great. Wont actually get much use out of it for a while though, looks like my car is going to be sat on the drive for a year (at least)!

Only minor thing is I have a fairly large airbubble on the front sticky pad. I'm hoping time/sun/heat will clear most of it up?
