Dat beard

Well i actually look more handsome with my beard, do you want me to rub my face against yours :D

Haha, he's apparently a know it all troll.

This is one of my favored posts from him:

I have always been of the opinion that any person who kills animals for a living cannot possibly be a person who can have feelings for an animal.

You cannot kill animals all day then go home and love your dog.

I think they have a mental problem as virtually every well known killer has a history of abusing animals at first, in fact it's highly unusual for a serial killer not to have a history of animal abuse.

Old fashioned ! you ought to hear what the women I work with say about beards which funnily enough they were talking about last week.

They're all young or youngish and not one single one from 22 said they liked them, if somebody thinks they're cool that's fine but telling me I'm a troll because I hate them is not on.

Shocker in people having different tastes! I've found plenty of young women that love a good beard.

Well this escalated quickly!

I would literally give my left nipple to be able to grow anything as magnificent as that beard.
Even left for a week mine still looks like something that would live on a pre pubescent alopecia sufferer.

I don't know if this is a placebo or not, but my father taught me to wet shave from a very young age... I think it has something to do with that.

But thanks chap :D

Nice thread, I have a beard but its really bristly and would like to know how to keep it soft!
Do the oils and balms really work? Just tried to condition it so far and that feels great...for about 10 mins, then back to the bristle!

I'm going to grab some stuff on the way home. As it stands at the moment, I shave my neck (my beard grows all the way down my neck as well, horrible look. If I don't shave that, it really does look messy and unkept.

I'll update here after a week of using :)

Until then, back to winding John40 up.

It makes a massive difference, along with not shampooing it every time you're in the shower so you don't strip the natural oils from it.

Cool, subbed for the reviews! My beard grows quite uniformly, no obvious patches and I got lucky with the neck area, doesn't really grow much. Just what grows is really messy!

Will be looking forward to which oils and balms works and which don't! :)

I ahve to keep mine on setting 2 otherwise it gets all wispy and horrible, doesn't grow as magnificently as I would like, have wet shaved for years so thats not the trick, trying an electric one now.

I don't like beards I think they look hideous, I am entitled to my opinion although at least one person thinks I'm not.

Don't get why you would even click on this thread with your obvious distaste of beards, never mind commenting to let the whole world know?
Obvious troll is obvious!

I just had to read that in the everything wrong with guys voice :D

also I completely agree, why would you enter a beard thread if you hate beards, except to troll about beards, because you cant grow a beard or you cannot admit you like beards so much its your fetish. But that cant be true your beard must not be beardy enough to compare to other beards, now if you'll excuse me I must have a bear and stroke my beard!:p

I let mine go full tramp... then had to dial it back in. I use a local beard oil, you can get a load. Mine is pine I believe. A mate makes his own.

Nice beard!

I'll take some pics today to compare to a weeks growth on my neck, I wet shaved my neck on Saturday evening.

As for oils and balms. I'll keep an updated spreadsheet. Also! This is a question I shout at my self for, I have ginger in my beard, a lot. I'm Scottish at heart I guess so that's where it's from. I have toyed with the notion of actually dieing my beard dark brown/black to get a uniform look... But then I don't... Because why would you die your beard.

im the same there brown, blonde and ginger in mine  but it still looks allright, kind of mixes into a fairer brown color

As a bearded man myself, I have a few things that I used to stop my beard feeling horrible. I tend to use products by the bearded man company, I like their stuff and fortunately seems to be cheaper than a lot of other products. You can find their stuff easily on the 'bay and rainforest. I use beard balm at the end of the day and a couple of times a week use their beard shampoo, the rest of the time I give it a rough clean in the shower when I wash my face. I use a standard beard comb but need to pick up a boar brush, as it can get a bit scruffy looking from time to time!

I am the proud owner of a fairly hefty beard at the moment.

like the OP, I used to keep it around the 2-3 setting on the trimmer but lately I have let it go completely. I am up to about 8 now but it's started to get a little wild.

I have just ordered some beard oil off the back of this thread to see if I can get it in order. I have a nice brush at home but I think oil will help get it in order.

Will post pics when home, I know some of you REALLY want to see them :P
